Sure he is young enough to wait another 4 years but no guarantee that the bloom won’t be off the rose of his candidacy among the GOP base - as a governor it just takes one mistake, for instance him messing up a bad hurricane response, to see things go sideways.

No one knows the stupidity of his voters better than Trump. DeSantis is too chicken@##% to attack him so in a debate expect DeSantis to literally say "I support Donald Trump the greatest president who ever lived"

Most recent odds that I saw put Desantis as the Republican primary favorite over Trump. I have my doubts as to whether Trump can be overcome in the Republican primaries.

Democrats seem to be openly discussing ditching Biden in 2024. The economy will likely be in the shitter at that point, so he'd be a pretty big liability. The bench strength behind him is pretty weak.

We shall see what happens. Not a lot of bright spots on the horizon for American politics.

Lot of time between now and Iowa and New Hampshire, much less Super Tuesday. Trump wins if he's alive, healthy and eligible, barring truly weird stuff between then and now. He's more of a lock than Hillary was at this point in '08...but she was about as stone cold a lock as they come eighteen months out.
