He may be done but his 'movement' and his desire to influence the GOP will still play a role in American politics unless he goes to jail for a long time. My theory has always been that Trump's desire is to make Ivanka president and for her to run against Harris in four years. Ivanka is a greedy and power hunger woman who thinks she still has a bright political future ahead so I can see Trump doing everything he can to propel her political career within the GOP. I sure hope I'm wrong though, the through of the Trump's becoming a political dynasty is a very scary prospect.

Ivanka will have Trumps base, and she might have the ability to win over a few moderates/ swing voters. Compared to the Donald, she appears fairly intelligent and articulate. I also believe, in recent times, in public she has distanced her self from him. Wouldn't take a huge swing for the Trumps to get back in.

She announced either yesterday or today that she’s not planning to challenge Marco Rubio for his Senate seat in 2022. That good news for the time being.

Yes she will, she is everything that the Trump base idolize: she is rich, white, 'beautiful' and more articulated than her dad so unfortunately I'm sure she can get many of his followers to vote for her.

I read that and it made me wonder even more if that's the plan so she can run for President in 2024, running for Senator and winning the seat would put her in a different position when it comes to her presidential ambitions.

I could certainly be proven wrong, but I think it’ll be a long time before another candidate with zero political experience gets serious traction in the US.

It seems the inexperience is not dissuading Ivanka from her political ambitions but maybe Republicans votes will know better.

I think the past four years taught enough people that high level political office isn’t just a job you can learn on the fly, but I don’t know that my post was as positive as it seemed in the surface. A far more terrifying prospect that Trump himself would be someone who was able to harness all the forces of Trumpism, and combine them with actual political savvy. I’m afraid that may be the next evolution we have to reckon with.

That's indeed a terrifying prospect and one I'm afraid we are going have to deal with in the foreseeable future.
