But you see that is not the sole preserve of those who voted to leave, nor I assume is violent demonstration the sole preserve of those with MAGA hats. The danger is that people assume that ALL members of a particular group are the same, and they are not. So while some associates of BLM burn shops and create no go zones, and associates of MAGA march onto the Capitol, it is not ALL, and I would even suggest it is a very very small minority in all cases. And for me, that is the real danger of politics like that...the characterisation and assumption of guilt by association.....

So two things...

1) NO ONE (NB, hyperbole to make a point, I’m sure there’s an idiot somewhere who does) thinks all Brexit voters are racist. Some people may think that Brexit voters (and particularly campaigners/proponents) are absolutely fine with harvesting racially motivated votes to get what they want. Some other people may think that while not all Brexit voters are racist, all racists are Brexit voters.

secondly, I’d imagine people would be less likely to assume nefarious motives behind a vote to leave if it had ever been made clear how leaving is supposed to be BETTER than what we had before (NB this should be done without probable falsehoods or meaningless slogans like “take back control”, “control our own lives” or “sovereign nation”. “We’ll have a few tough years but in the long run we’ll be fine” isn’t a reason either.

You know, it IS possible to be married to a vile piece of crap and still be a decent human being. Trump never got that part of it, he COULD have been a good person.

I have asked myself that question before about Melania and have come to the conclusion that it is not possible. Like Trump, she is disgusting human being and accomplice. Especially with something like that... I mean I can understand thinking it’s abhorrent, I can understand (though not condone) cheering it on...

Maybe. But my experience of surveys is that they rarely ask just one question. They may only ask 4, but they ask those 4 ten different ways to smooth out the real response.

I was about to say surely if someone didn't want to partake they would keep on walking, ignore the poll, click the x, ignore the headline, say not interested on the phone or however its delivered.
