Do they not have to be convicted first??Ugh. CNN is making an unfortunate point right now. Trump could possibly issue pardons to every single one of the people involved in yesterday’s events.
Considering that the prevailing wisdom is that he can issue pardons to at least his family, and maybe himself, for crimes they haven’t even been charged with yet, my guess would be no.Do they not have to be convicted first??
Have nothing against you Toff. I just don't buy in to your take on it at all. xx
Sorry, as someone who lives here that seems extremely naive.
And even if there was a pile of kindling sitting there you don’t give the person who piled on logs and then took a blowtorch to it and cackles as it burns a pass.
Some lawyers saying they don't know if that will work or hold up in court. But the problem is, is that no one has done it so there's no precedent. Leave it to Trump to be the first to try.Considering that the prevailing wisdom is that he can issue pardons to at least his family, and maybe himself, for crimes they haven’t even been charged with yet, my guess would be no.
10-1Odds he makes it through the day without getting locked again?
Did he actually get it unlocked yet? I don’t think he’s tweeted all day.10-1
Presidents have issued pre-emptive pardons to others in the past. Most notably, Gerald Ford pardoning Richard Nixon who had not been charged with a crime. What has not happened is a POTUS pre-emptively pardoning himself. Some lawyers saying they don't know if that will work or hold up in court. Idk actually. I don’t use Twitter so I’m basically at the mercy of whatever tweets get linked here. No way he avoids another ban though if it is lifted.Did he actually get it unlocked yet? I don’t think he’s tweeted all day.
Sorry mate, been a bit of a tense couple of days!I don't mean he did it accidentally all through.
I remember reading Fire and Fury. His campaign was nothing more than him wanting to be in a d***-swinging contest. And then he realised he could win, and him or the people running his campaign knew what to jump onto.
I didn't mean the post to be absolving him of responsibility.
