Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

How many cases are going against Trump currently?? Must be quite a few and i bet the prosecutors can't wait for him to not be president anymore.
There are many but the ones that could get him in trouble are two fraud cases in New York State. One criminal and one civil, have expanded to include tax write-offs on millions of dollars in consulting fees. These cases have been brought against him even without looking at his taxes. I have no doubt they will find more charges, such a money laundering, once his taxes come to light.

I saw somebody jokingly suggest that Biden should appoint Hillary as AG so that she could have the last laugh and be the one to “lock him up”. Obviously won’t and shouldn’t happen, but even thinking about the irony is pretty tasty.
That would be sensational.

Well, I'm no constitutional lawyer, but isn't there a blurring of the lines between Executive powers and the DoJ?

In any case, Biden will have input there because he'll choose the Attorney General.

Real world: he can if he desires go after Trump. And, IMO, has a moral obligation to do so.

DOJ is executive branch, but traditionally POTUS stays clear of investigations.

This is one of many norms that Trump has completely blown all to hell and is why I want Biden in particular no where near any DOJ/FBI investigation into Trump and allies. I want a POTUS, not Putin.
The DOJ is to supposed to be independent. Obviously who the Attorney General is makes a difference and that is the only way POTUS should influence the DOJ.

It may be a subtle point, but to me it is an extremely important line not to cross.

I understand where you're coming from. But for me, as said, I think there's a greater cause at stake here than respecting the division between presidency and state departments. If Trumpism would have won the last election the whole edifice would have been undermined. Populism needs to be buried, and the best way of approaching it will be to put Trump's head on a pike for all to see.

It is for the President to uphold standards of democracy. The allegations that Trump and his supporters have made are extremely serious and amount to an undermining of democracy. Thats about as serious as it gets and needs to be prosecuted.

Trump and Trumpish is a disease, much as Hitler and fascism was. They bhave a 4 year window of opportunity to stigmatise him as much as possible. They need to take that.

I will keep saying it. That is the DOJ's job. Not the President. Certainly POTUS should publicly advocate for following the laws and general statements of ..if laws are broken, people should be prosecuted, etc. However, a President should not weigh in on specific ongoing cases or tell the DOJ who to investigate....ie they should NOT do what Trump has done.

I do not want Biden publicly (or privately) telling the AG he should be going or not going after Trump. That is for the DOJ/FBI to investigate and decide.
