Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I dont think its reset the election race; if anything the early evidence has shown he has suffered for it. All I was trying to suggest is that electoral success is not his aim here, and probably hasnt been since Biden became the Democrat nominee - he is going to do something else to "win".
When was the fieldwork done for the last few polls? That poll slump came after the first debate.

I still think he'll be soundly beaten by Biden, but I dont buy this Trump has had Covid19 story.

He's kept his connection to Putin and impeachment at bay.
Well not really. He was impeached. The only reason he wasn’t removed was because the Senate Republicans are utterly craven and care more about power than the country.

Look again at Trumps profile. That's not right that he walks out of that hopsital today, no matter how much drugs he's pumped with.
Again, if he’s discharged himself, there‘s little linkage between him leaving and his condition. Also remember that he’s not going back home like anyone else would - he’s going to the White House which has a medical centre to rival many hospitals.

This farrago has done its job: reset the election race
Let’s wait until we have a shred of evidence/polling before we start saying the race has been “reset”, eh?

What would it take? A strange WH doctor who took control of his case - box ticked.

This farrago has done its job: reset the election race; placed Trump in invincible light (far from making him look weak as Lineker's Legs has stated); underlines what he's been saying about certain treatments developed on his watch.

Job done.

Let's see how it's gone down in the polls in the coming week or two.
Yeah oddly I don’t think being so reckless with simple guidelines to allow a deadly virus to rampage throughthe White House projects either strength or competency to the electorate at large but as you say, guess we’ll see.

He's a cornered rat. The smart money must be on him and his team doing something spectacular to change the narrative.

74 years old, vasty overweight, heart condition...doing victory laps in a car outside Walter Reed and now heading back to the WH under his own steam.

Never in a million years. Or maybe he is the superman his hillbilly supporters claim him to be?

Just makes him look like a "winner" when he waltzes back in there "cured" and saying he feels like a middle aged man again.

My position is this: he's done for. The trajectory of the election race was set and it was set to crush him at the polls. What has this feller got to lose with a throw of the dice like this?

1) The car stunt was apparently a “deal” he did with doctors so he didn’t discharge himself yesterday
2) sitting in a car doesn’t take a lot of energy
3) you’re really underestimating the (temporary) effect high dose steroids can have
4) being in a high risk group doesn’t *guarantee* a severe disease progression
5) he’s not actually reached the stage of the illness (chronologically) where symptoms would be at their worse - assuming the claimed timeline is accurate
6) if he’s discharging himself the above is all kinda moot anyway
7) see previous comment about returning to the WH

Also makes him look utterly out of touch and uncaring about the 210k (and rising) Americans who’ve died.

So who exactly outside of his core base do you think he’s convincing?

Let's see how it's gone down in the polls in the coming week or two.

Initial polls since it's been announced suggests Biden widening the lead, and 2/3's of people unhappy with Trumps conduct.

His base will love his antics, but outside of that quite small number of people, I would imagine people are just going to think the guy has lost the plot and go for the alternative.

Yes to all that...but tell me you dont at least harbour a suspicion that this could be a contrick...

But he'd already established that. In fact, this ruse also hands him the chance to row back a bit and appear contrite...ever so slightly.

This is a good point. When I had my wisdom teeth cut out a few years ago, the oral surgeon gave me a prescription for some steroids to help with the swelling. I felt pretty much bulletproof for about four days until I ran out of them.

That could all be the case and still not make wrong the view that this is a desperate stunt.

That is certainly how they are going to try to spin it.

But Trump also said this

There is nothing you can say that will convince me that someone with an id like Trump pretended to get Covid.
