Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Sure, Russia interfered - by sharing a bunch of internet memes which were indistinguishable from those created by American voters, and which had no demonstrable effect on the outcome.
1. You're a bright guy, so I assume you're fully aware that that ISN'T all they did.
2. The fact they were indistinguishable (other than by being meticulously traced back to their source) is kinda the problem!
3. The fact that it's impossible to quantify the effect Russia's campaign had on the election is not the same thing as it not having an effect. Given that Trump won the election by 80,000 votes across 3 states, it's far from unreasonable to believe that 40,000 votes could have been shifted.

Jesus, yeah, that's not a great idea.

As a barometer for how this worked, here's Ken Loach's (who Im sure is a big draw in Clark County, Ohio) letter.

And here is a sample of the responses to such an amazingly patronising scheme.

First off, the scheme was astonishingly dumb...

But there's some strong irony that I'd be willing to bet my last penny that a bunch of the people espousing the most venom in their responses were curiously less upset at the much more wide ranging and less "up front" interference in 2016.

As with Q-Anon (Jeffrey Epstein, the Catholic Church), Pod Save America liberals started with elements of truth and concocted a spiraling, hysterical fantasy of formal collusion and Trump taking orders from the Kremlin, which falls apart at the slightest scrutiny yet which, just like Q-Anon, remains an object of faith for its disciples, no matter how often it is refuted (remember when Rachel Maddow claimed that Putin took out the power-grid in Vermont? Lol)

So you think there are equal amounts of truth in the assertions that Russia interfere with elections that there is a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles running a global child sex-trafficking ring is plotting against President Donald Trump and that he is waging a secret war against them? Got ya

On a side note, this kind of goes back to the Cuco equation. These days just by stating something, it is as likely to be as true as any other statement.

Kind of mad that Russia would plough so much effort into misinformation campaigns when it has no effect whatsoever and that the US thought it serious enough to warrant a 1,300 page investigation and report concluding that their efforts were extensive and in colloboration with many of Trump's advisors, some who would later go on to be arrested.

But no, it's exactly the same as internet virgins thinking Donald Trump is trying to smash a global paedophile ring in a secret underground war against the illuminati. Both just as likely to be true, both should be treated the same imo

Sigh... I'm not going to bother if you can't be bothered to read what I actually write.

I read what you wrote Abe, and it's plain for everyone to see. Most reasonable people can see the difference between a general and justifiable concern about Russian interference in democratic processes and the weird internet fantasy of a global network of basement-dwelling virgins. But you have stated that you think they are both equivalent and can be dismissed as easily as the other. In fact, you kind of gave more credence to the global network of basement-dwelling virgins, a huge call there

great, thanks for putting the bumbling character or Abe Lard in my head. This is as bad as the Dave K debacle.

Yeah, gotta agree, there are no "elements of truth" in Q-anon...just weird pizzagate, Seth Rich fantasies, and something about a storm or some such.
