The republican party nearly tore themselves apart when Trump ran for President. The party elites hate him. Civil War? Why? They're not replacing him with Clinton. The Tories carried on fine after Thatcher was ditched.

And in some way I hope they don't do anything to him because I'm genuinely scared of Pence. Trump is a nutter but not the crazy right wing woman hater than Pence is.

This type of identity politics isn't serving Democrats well at all. They've gone to the well too many times with this one (all Republicans are racist and misogynist- boy crying wolf syndrome). And we're left with a President who probably is both.

I think it's more the fact that he isn't a politician and has never held any political office. He's completely raw and will say and do things that will no doubt surprise or upset people, he will make mistakes, but he will probably be an improvement on the eight years of sound bites with little action that you've just had..............

No. All that is happening is that a bunch of people at the top of politics in the US are desperately trying to get out of a situation that they are directly responsible for bringing about.
