Everyone in America is armed so that goes without saying. The open displays? That's more of a white people thing. And I know if an African-American was walking around my local Wal-Mart with a rifle there would be a panic.

Don't expect to be visiting then because it'll take probably a good 4 or 5 generations to even come close to sorting it. I mean people think background checks will be enough to make an impact and that's just fantasy land. We are so far from curtailing gun violence that it's honestly depressing.

I understand your analogy, however I actually think the issue is greater than that because we've seen a steady decline in the % of the population who drink.

Drinking habits are nowhere near what they once were. On the other hand, I get the sense that the US culture of firearms is actually growing year on year.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I see the American culture around firearms as fanatical and totally irrational. The love from Trump is not far off it either!

I've always advocated the banning of ammunition: people will still have stock and there will be those who'll still manufacture it - back street or black market.

However, slowly but surely it would have an impact on how they can be used, and severe punishments for the possession of ammunition would contribute to.

Anyway, it's never going to happen because firearms are so engrained in their culture and psyche, which goes back to your point of not getting guns.

I don't get it either, but it's not intertwined into our culture and nor is it a central part of our beliefs and history. There are far too many facets to it to discuss here.

Oh I agree that’s the better route. I look at it like abortion (I know complete off topic). I don’t agree with it but I agree with peoples right to do it. That’s my issue with a lot. I may not agree but I’ll fight for the freedom to do so. I don’t think toting around guns in the streets sets a great example but they have a right to do so (in some states). As long as its peaceful I’m all for it. Just my thing.
