I just dont get it. Guns that is. But if they banned them tomorrow, there would still be millions of all sorts of guns in the population.
Same here with booze. You may be correct that the % of Brits drinking is going down, but it is still an everyday part of life.
I've always advocated the banning of ammunition: people will still have stock and there will be those who'll still manufacture it - back street or black market.
However, slowly but surely it would have an impact on how they can be used, and severe punishments for the possession of ammunition would contribute to.
Anyway, it's never going to happen because firearms are so engrained in their culture and psyche, which goes back to your point of not getting guns.
I don't get it either, but it's not intertwined into our culture and nor is it a central part of our beliefs and history. There are far too many facets to it to discuss here.
