The entire speech was comprised of him either patting himself on the back or blatantly pandering to specific interests within the Republican Party. The only thing he didn’t have was a heartwarming story about some redneck vigilante who used the arsenal of guns under his bed to “save” his family, thus proving there is no gun problem in this country. Other than that, I think played all their hits.

Thought it was childish personally. They both constantly have chances to be the bigger person and neither wants to take it. I’m more annoyed by our entire political system and the partisanship of everything by the day.

True story

As we were driving back to the burgh from a legendary, bucket list type of win over Clemson in death valley a few years back, in fact I think it was mere days after Trump won the election, we took a route through Asheville that required us to drive through that eastern sliver of Tennessee between NC and Virginia. Just before we reached the Virginia border there was this little shack off 81 that had signs lauding its presence for a mile or so in order of progression like Guns...God...Trump....Ammo, or some such thing, juxtaposed against the biggest American flag I've ever seen on a hill on the other side of 81. It was a stark reminder of the new world order we were about to embark on.

I am usually with that line of thinking, trying to keep to the high road and not get into the much with them, but that hasn't been working.

I think what happened in the impeachment trial was the last straw for many of us. I think there was something symbolic, not just therapeutic, in ripping up that disgusting "speech" given the trial, in which 45's lawyers and Senate lackeys ripped up the Constitution.
