I'd like to think it was mate, you would tend to think that most independents, all dems and any Republicans with a shred of dignity left would vote for anyone over him. However, I think with the economy booming the thought process will be 'well, he's not done anything THAT bad' and he'll squeak a narrow victory again..... my only comfort with that is that its 4 yrs left and he has to leave (although I really wouldn't be surprised to see him follow Xi/Putin and orchestrate a constitutional change so he can stay longer or try and line up Ivanka/Kushner as a replacement). It never was until November
Oh it’s not a cert that he loses in November, but I meant that there was never a chance of him going BEFORE that. Any other president with this economy would be a shoe-in. The fact that people realise what a cretin he is (and the ensuing energising of the Left) means it’s a coinflip.I'd like to think it was mate, you would tend to think that most independents, all dems and any Republicans with a shred of dignity left would vote for anyone over him. I think u are right mate, I think the world view of the usa is damaged already and 4 more yrs will damage that further. I dont have a great deal of knowledge of usa politics (I only took an interest when trump arrived), how divided is dems/Republican voting? Ie, equivalent to labour/conservative? I suppose if it showed here that a lot of labour voters crossed the divide due to Brexit, maybe a lot of Republicans would cross the divide (or just not vote) due to being anti trump?Oh it’s not a cert that he loses in November, but I meant that there was never a chance of him going BEFORE that. What I would say is that if he gets a second term, it’s NOT just a matter of “oh we have to put up with another 4 years”.
If he wins again, the country (and the rest of the world’s view of the country) might never get back to how it was before.
If the country SEES 4yrs of Trump and signs up for another 4, that’s a very different proposition to just making a one off “mistake” then rectifying it at the earliest opportunity. Plus there’s no telling what he’d do with 4yrs where he never has to face voters again.

He was always going to try that whatever happened with the trial (because he was never getting removed)... that's why it's incumbent upon EVERY non-Trumpist in the states to donate, knock doors, phone bank, register voters, drive people to the polls, ANYTHING to assist in an overwhelming turnout to cancel out whatever nefarious steps Trump takes to try to sure up his position. To be honest, now that GOP have basically given him carte blanche to do what he wants, he will rig that election somehow and end up with another term
To be fair, I think most of the available data here says that Brexit was actually less of an issue (though still a major one of course) than dissatisfaction/dislike/distrust in the Labour leadership.I think u are right mate, I think the world view of the usa is damaged already and 4 more yrs will damage that further. The polls (obviously there's an unavoidable margin of error there) give Biden the widest advantage over Trump (particularly in swing states) but he wouldn't be my first choice of who I'd want as the next President.Who do u see defeating him? Biden? He seems to have the most appeal to the 'opposite' side? Comes across as a genuine bloke to me. Will the hunter Biden 'scandal' be enough fuel for the GOP to discredit him though?
I guess he has appeal as part of the Obama administration? To be fair, most people would look good next to trump though. His campaign adverts should be good if hes nominated, so much to fire at trump and GOP.....The polls (obviously there's an unavoidable margin of error there) give Biden the widest advantage over Trump (particularly in swing states) but he wouldn't be my first choice of who I'd want as the next President.

In defence of inductive reasoning however, it should also be pointed out that Biden is clearly suffering from advancing senility, and has always been prone to erratic outbursts and gaffes - such that his own staff no longer trust him to answer basic questions about his record, and have apparently directed him to hand out pre-printed flyers instead:
Watch that, then imagine what might happen during a nationally televised debate when Trump (correctly) points out that Biden has spent his entire career attempting to slash assistance for seniors.
I would like to believe that at some point, even the Democrats will be forced to stop pretending not to see what is unfolding directly before their eyes - but partisanship is a hell of a drug.
Trump supporters are already kicking this idea about on the grounds that his first term was derailed by the impeachment proceedings, so he deserves a third term as compensation.I'd like to think it was mate, you would tend to think that most independents, all dems and any Republicans with a shred of dignity left would vote for anyone over him.
