I truly don’t know what to expect. He’s got 35-40% of voters solidly locked down in what I can only describe as a cult-like following. I hope there will be a decent few people who voted for him last time but have gotten buyers remorse once they saw what he’s turned out to be and have since come to their senses. Ultimately, it may all hinge on what happens with the economy between now and November.

At least there is a bit of hope!! My cousins wife (from Michigan) says she has an almost pavlovian response to the sound of his voice now, she says she becomes instantly furious as soon as she hears him say anything!!
I've watched bits of the impeachment trial so far, from an outsiders point of view (albeit someone who despises trump) I thought the dems generally came across well. Mitch McConnell comes across awfully whenever I hear him speak.

Senility, incoherent babbling, Pavlovian urges to grope women, decades of corruption, hilariously incompetent offspring, semi-conscious servility on behalf of corporate plunder, unaware of events after 1985... there is more that unites Trump and Biden than divides them.
In Biden, God is conducting an experiment on #resistance types to determine whether or not they are self-aware. It's not looking good so far.
The difference though is that while Trump has a base, even Biden's own wife can't name a reason why he should be allowed to run anything.

The thing is "#resistance types" as you so denigratingly refer to people who give a **** what's going on don't WANT Biden as President... However getting Trump out of office is such a pressing concern that huge numbers of voters have become pundits. They know that Biden (rightly or wrongly) is more palatable to the swing voters who simply have to be won over than the more liberal options they themselves would rather have in office, and as such, they're drawn to supporting him as a "safer" option for beating Trump
And to be fair, the polling bears out this line of thinking.
One question though, as much as he certainly isn't ideal, are you implying that Biden isn't preferable to Trump?

He's terrible. But amazingly, blatantly conducting a sham trial of a criminal president probably isn't even his lowest moment. That still probably belongs to his decision to effectively steal a Supreme Court nominee from Obama on the grounds that an election year was coming up. It's not like those guys serve for 30-40 years or anything.....oh wait.
I've been in the UK since before Christmas, so luckily I've missed most of the impeachment coverage. Flying home Tuesday, so looks like I'll be home just in time to see Trump triumphantly stroll his criminal self into the House chamber that night and claim full exoneration to the masses, even though he was never really even tried. UGH

No idea meself I agree with his exposure of the climate doom fraud but overall don't follow American politics except when barmy Bernie Sanders appears that man is comedy gold.
I ask because it's noticeable how the overt high handed attitude of Trump has diminished in UK media.
Note. I'm not asking has he done a good job but could his tenure be presented as successful - different things
