Amazing the way people say this as if Trump is some master debater. Also ignores the fact that in EVERY single poll, Biden has the widest margin over Trump of any of the Dem candidates, and by FAR the best numbers in the swing states.

He’s not my choice, because he’s not progressive enough for me, but it’s fairly tricky to make an unelectability argument against him, particularly when you’re then pivoting to “please god, Bernie”

Not really. The average of polling at the end had Clinton +3%. She won by 2%.

Don’t think there were many polls either in the narrow window between Comey letter and the election in the midwest region, specifically Wisconsin/Michigan/Pennsylvania, which is where she lost the electoral college. The general polling was as you state not far off but regional variations have big impact with the electoral college.

Biden wins Pennsylvania, has a good shot in NC and Florida and would do alright in the rust belt.
he would do ok against trump, especially if he opts for a progressive running mate (which IMHO is where Clinton went wrong)

More progressive, but also much younger and either a female or a minority or both.
