No probs I got what you were saying. For what it’s worth I wasn’t commenting on liberals/conservatives relative to those qualities (particularly being informed), but specifically to trump supporters/non-supporters

I only moved to the States in 2008 so dont have first hand knowledge of US politics previous to that but my father-in-law is pretty interesting on the subject. He was the first democratic mayor of his small town for 60 years but he voted for plenty of republicans including George HW Bush. To hear him tell it, Newt Gingrich has a lot to answer for when it comes to the state of US politics today.See this is the thing that bothers me as a conservative. The people that volunteer to talk about Trump or the people the press choose are always the dumbest ones
This again why i feel the GOP are in more trouble than conservatives like to admit. Their voices over the last two years have been divisive and a lot of the time ignorant and not very intelligent.
Which is sad because like me there are so many off us who actually have a brain with common sense, logic and well opinions.
I fear a lot of my fellow conservatives are one of three things 1.embarrassed and thus afraid to talk about it, 2. Purposely staying silent and supporting the party simply because and 3. they really follow Trump and don't want to admit it or they want to get one over on liberals.
@Pittsburgh Footy it worries me too. I will admit in the past there have been times where i have picked party over candidate maybe in a local election or two but this is just stupid. The guy is not all there and he has done nothing for this country. This goes beyond reason and logic.
Getting one over on the opponent is tiresome. They are treating it like its a sports team. Thing is when i point out the hypocrisy to people and how not helpful this is they just point fingers at the left and say they do the same thing. It baffling. That's not an answer or explanation. That's something a 12 year old would say to get out of answering or accepting blame.
just look at the areas where conservatives have voted for actual felons or those pending trial just to avoid voting for a democrat. That's just silly. If you try reason with them it falls on deaf ears. I always say would you be happy living next door to someone that corrupt and dishonest and they normally say no.
LOLWhat's your concern about USA being that you are in Birkenhead...
It's none of your business...
Agreed. A resident of a "swing county" isn't necessarily a swing voter.Surely a swing voter is a voter whose vote is liable to swing, as opposed to a swing STATE voter who just happens to live in a swing state?

So, you'd vote for him if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue? I'd wanna know why he shot 'em!
That lady is not a swing voter.
Yep. It got out of control in the early to mid 90s. During the age of Newt Gingrich and the rise of shock jockers like Rush Limbaugh. Then came Fox News and it was all over.I only moved to the States in 2008 so dont have first hand knowledge of US politics previous to that but my father-in-law is pretty interesting on the subject. It's not my intention to point fingers or blame sides as I think both sides have indulged in gutter politics of late.
Here's an interesting piece on Gingrich.

The damage that’s been done in last few years is going to take a generation to undo, at least.
he's appointed one in four circuit court judges and two SCOTUS judgesThe damage that’s been done in last few years is going to take a generation to undo, at least.
If he wins re-election it might never be un-f*****

It wouldn't have mattered anyways. The fairness doctrine only applied to OTA channels like CBS and ABC.No coincidence that the Fairness Doctrine policy of the FCC ended in late 80s or early 90s.
JFCIn october America admitted 0 refugees. 0! When you think about our hand in how many people are displaced, this is one more reason for shame.
