I think the House will vote to impeach, so we'll go on to the Senate.

As of today, I'm guessing it's 50/50 as to conviction. I think there is a CHANCE that the GOP Senate might say to themselves "we had a good run, got a bunch of judges and have the Supreme Court locked up for quite a while, so let's get rid of the idiot while we can and still have a prayer at maintaining a Senate majority in 2020."

I can hope.

Perhaps they will remember history. The GOP were in lockstep behind the notion impeachment was a hoax perpetrated by the media and liberal elites - until the evidence (Nixon on tape) was made public. Only then did they go to the POTUS to resign.

In 1974, the GOP lost 49 House seats and 8 Senate seats.

I doubt it very much. The Mueller Report was a smoking gun of Obstruction of Justice. Nobody moved a finger.

I think impeachment will introduce a completely uncontrollable variable into the mix that could go any which possible way, but at this point if we don't impeach good taste will require that we redact Article II, Section 4 of the US Constitution.
