I'm a pessimist. I wouldn't be shocked if he won re-election. I'm not even mad any more. I'm just sad that this is who walk among us - many more than I ever thought possible.

yea, I hear you, his favorability ratings among registered Republicans is shocking. Normalizing this behavior is damaging America no end. But I've got to assume that independents are not happy with his racist carry on.
He'll keep the deep red states but I think Florida is back in play, I'd say the Cuban American vote wont be the same for him and stuff like people with felony convictions getting the vote will help the dems.

If Biden wins, there won't be a wave of momentum but he will take Pennsylvania and probably the rust belt states. He'll beat Trump.
If someone else wins (Warren/Harris/Buttigeig), they are relying on momentum and a high turnout and I think they'll get that.

Trumps 2016 campaign was vile but he wasn't POTUS, now that he is, his style of campaigning will do him more harm than good. It's aimed squarely at his base who were going to vote for him no matter what.
The question is, is the damage his 2020 campaign will do irreversible?

I suspect you would anyway, but everyone over there needs to double their efforts. It’s the only option in the face of this absolute travesty.

Can only imagine how tough that must be to take, stuff like that happening in your own town.

Nobody is underestimating him, in fact most people are pretty resigned to him getting a second term. Equally, it's disappointing and frightening to see a US president openly being racist and embracing racist chants at his own rallies, and to see that there are more than a few who are okay with that

It's the angle he's using. I don't think he's personally racist I don't think he gives a hoop. He just cares about himself. It is scary in this day and age to see it on such a scale. But capitalism thrieves when people are divided and ignorant. So it shouldn't be that surprising in a way this is going on in America.

Assuming you're UK based, I'd worry more about what's going on over there, chief. Labour's anti-Semisitm is pretty disgusting for a party that's always calling the right racists, and the Tories installing Boris Johnson as PM is hardly an upgrade on Theresa May. Brexit tearing the country apart. UK an absolute shambles, politically. The rest of the world seems to be more triggered by Trump than the America I live in is

Denying black people and only black people from buying homes.
Taking an ad in a newspaper about the 5 black guys wrongly accused of murder. Never has he taken an ad out about any other crime in New York nor has he ever taken a page out for any white criminal.
Calling Mexicans rapists.
His comments about the Latin American judge were pretty defamatory also.
Calling all of Africa a sh*thole.
Telling Americans of colour to go back to where they came from.
The travel ban was pretty racist.
