Omar's antisemitic remarks are becoming a real drag on this group as a whole. I understand that AOC and the rest don't endorse what she's said but by working with here their opening themselves up to being grouped in. The worst part being on the whole the right is pro-Israel but not necessarily pro-Jews. But this allows them to throw something back when called out on their prejudice and they have actual quotes to back it up. I by and large support Omar and the rest but she's made an issue that really didn't need to be there.

The 4 congresswomen are coming right for him live at a press conference now, pulling no punches either. Pressley and Omar been up, now AOC.

Why is nobody allowed to criticise the situation in Isreal without be called an anti-semite? She calls out all wrongs even muslims.

You have a point, though when the President of the US has done what he has done these past few days it is a bizarre time to bring it up.

She hasn't just done that though. The others have done what you said. Omar however has called into question whether Jews are more loyal to Israel or the US and questioned whether Israel is only supported because of the money Jews have both of which are clearly antisemitic.

I've brought it up because he keeps tweeting about the Democrats antisemitism as a comeback to show his racism isn't any worse and it is only even close to a real criticism because of some of the remarks Omar has made in recent months. At least that's my view of it. Maybe they would try to play that card anyway but I think her saying some of the things she's said have enabled it.

None of her statements, even taken at their absolute worst, imply that she "hates Jews", though - which is what he said. Nor has she ever supported al-Qaeda, or made statements suggesting that she did. To criticise her on that basis is just wrong.

I am not sure as well that any of what she has come out with has (or could ever have) enabled this, given that it was an attack on all of them that is demonstrably racist as well as, in Ayanna Pressley's case specifically, astonishingly hypocritical (given when her ancestors came (edit: sorry, said "here" initially) to the US vs when Trump's did - in fact Trump is the same as AOC and Tlaib in that he is the child of a first generation immigrant).

When she said that political influence is pledged to Isreal? Talking about AIPAC? Because they are very influential and pro-Isreal. Im not sure what she said exactly so you may be right but she has criticised all powerful lobbying groups who have influence in Americas laws not just Isreal.

It does appear to be an easy way out, instead of talking about the difficult situation of the conflict, just throw out the anti-semite trope to shut it down. Florida has recently passed a law to stop any criticism of Isreal, which is absolutely nuts

I am in no way defending Trump here nor am I going to say that Omar goes all the way to the level of hating Jews. And the rest of the stuff with 9/11 and al-Qaeda is clearly contrived horse crap. But this quote, "I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” is an antisemitic reference to the old stereotype that Jews are more loyal to Israel than the US. And saying things like that opens up the antisemitism line of attack. I wish she wouldn't have done that and I hope she will be careful not to again.

@Tin-Tin I didn't add you into this reply but I think it addresses the same problem. Also the rest of the party had a direct response to this by passing a resolution condemning antisemitism and Simon Schama, who is a Jewish historian, pretty strongly condemned it.

Singling that out certainly is - though if she'd said that political influence in the US is up for sale, and pointed to all the crazy stuff that has been done down the years by US politicians being paid to let businesses and other countries get away with almost murder (or actual murder in the case of MBS), she'd be emphatically correct.
