I asked him if he was American from the point of view of him saying he was a socialist. Not because of his opinion. Socialists in this country would never defend Trump. Those that i have come across in my time here.

Firstly no one says Trump won because of racists. What most agree on is that is hateful rhetoric stirred racists like any other presidential candidate to the point they openly supported him and for the first time in many decades showed their faces in marches proud of their new hero.

Secondly people didn't turn on the Democrats because they were hypocrites and liars. That's just right wing, trump supporter, fox new garbage. They lost because Clinton was heavily disliked and was arrogant to the point of not visiting certain states because she either saw it as pointless or thought she would win. Also Sanders took a lot of young minds on his campaign and many wanted him to be chosen as the candidate.

There are other factors too. Trump played on the fears of the working class for example immigrants taking their jobs etc... (brown immigrants from mexico that is) also that Muslims were all bad and should be banned from entering. Other immigrants are fine as long as they come from popular countries and or are white it seemed.

He also told people in towns were dying industries were big that he could get their jobs back which thus far has been untrue.

Also Collusion is not "silly" nor is obstruction. It warranted an investigation. Look at how many people in the Trump campaign are in jail or are waiting a trial. Also the report does no exonerate him. three times in it Mueller says he cannot come to that conclusion. He also stated that he could not say Trump was innocent either.

Finally Trumps own hires started the investigation not the Democrats. Funny how fox and the right spin it. Sure the Democrats kept going on about it but they did not start it. When the intelligence community summarized that Russia hacked the 2016 election congress discussed and were outraged. Even some GOP members spoke out. As a result more and more information came out and thus within Trumps own admin a special council was ordered.

I didn't say the Dems lost because of being hypocrits. They often win cause of it. If you look at trump objectively he obviously doesn't care and is so obviously for the top percent. He's like a cartoon. Obama seemed so genuine and was even better at lying to the workers or being anti war etc. They got burned by that that they went with a moronic joke like trump. Cause they've only two choices. Hillary was a less convincing Obama. I adore bernie and believe him. I think he will win and hope he can implement he's socialism. But I'll have to see.

Bernie Sanders has a good chance of winning the Dem nominiation for 2020. The Russians will almost certainly try to help get Trump re-elected and also interfere in the Dem primary.

Even if you don’t care what happened in 2016 (which I have to admit I find bizarre) wouldn’t it be a good idea to make sure the same techniques aren’t used on Bernie?

Yeah I was devastated that bernie got rigged up. And I'm one who doesn't take thier democratic system seriously. But it's obvious that Sanders isn't fake. His history, his arguments. That are all based on fact and not charisma. It's why it's so easy for him politically to destroy fellow Dems. Because socialism at the end of the day is in 99% of the peoples best interest. It should be a no brainer argument. Unless your fake and are owned by the owners of means of production. See every dem and conservative.

Obama deceived the rust belt?? Obama saved the auto industry, Obama took over an economy with nearly record high numbers of bankruptcies and foreclosures, Obama drove unemployment down about 7% and the market up about 12%, he turned the whole bloody mess around and he gave working class people affordable health insurance for the first time.
It's not his fault Clinton got complacent and ignored the rust belt in the run up to the GE.

most agree he was able to reach the working class but like i said his platform was on fear. Out of that fear bore the racist element and then the comments from him and his admin once he got elected confirmed that he is a bigot and racist.

Trying to ban Muslim's and brown skinned immigrants and things like walls.

He promised those "working class" that he would drain the swamp and bring back industries that are dead, moved or using automation.

Of course he sound good to them.

He has yet to deliver on most of that and hes a sound board still for bigotry and racism.

he'll get nowhere near the nomination.
The only reason he got so far last time was because of his competition, not the case this cycle.
Still tho, he laid the bedrock for some great policies that are common place now, so for that, thanks Bernie.
