Clearly very traumatic. I am happy she is reunited with her mother. A mother and her young child should never be separated, regardless of the circumstances. But I wonder why her mother didn't try and enter the country legally? Or why she didn't settle in Mexico, which is a safe country compared to where she came from? I'd love to live in the States, but I am not allowed, and I have no intention of trying to enter illegally.
All fair points, but in my opinion no government, no democrat, no republican, no one should ever separate a 17month old child from their mother in the course of enforcing an immigration policy. Ever.

It is also possible that the mother was seeking asylum, which is legal to do.

How do you know she didn't? Presenting yourself at a port of entry is how you seek asylum and the Trump DOJ and ICE has been separating these families, as well not just folks crossing the border illegally.

The narrative has been completely changed now , where following the established rules for applying for asylum is now considered illegal.

Post from my Trumper family/friends in defense of a border wall to stop drugs coming into the US
Bless her heart.

From an article:

“We got our hands on an internal memo from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol that details this bust. The biggest fentanyl seizure in U.S. history,” said Fox Business anchor Hillary Vaughn.

“According to the memo, four days ago in Nogales, Arizona, at the port of entry, CBP officers stopped a tractor-trailer crossing the U.S.-Mexico border into the U.S. with enough fentanyl to kill 57 million people. That’s plenty of fatal dose to wipe out the entire populations of Texas, Arizona and New York state combined,” she added.

For someone who constantly wants to remind us of their blue collar roots and the good, unpretentious American folks who work honest blue-collar jobs, you'd think they could write in plain English--speak to the common man and all that--rather than stilted intellectual gibberish filled with gee-ain't-I-smart roundabout references.

Proper meaningless word-salads.

Look, that child was an illegal immigrant and possibly a terrorist........

Absolutely astounding - I'll soon be heading up the US Dept of Health and Human Services because I've worked in a hospital.....

Herman Cain, the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, is being considered by President Donald Trump for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board, Bloomberg News reports. In a 2012 op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, Cain advocated for a “9-9-9 tax code” that would sharply cut taxes to businesses, and institute a 9 percent income tax, a 9 percent business tax, and a 9 percent national retail sales tax. Cain, who was reportedly at the White House yesterday, has repeatedly been accused of sexual harassment. Two female employees of the National Restaurant Association received payouts from Cain after making harassment claims against the CEO. They reportedly received settlements in return for signing non-disclosure agreements. Nominating Cain for the Federal Reserve Board will likely lead to a U.S. Senate confirmation hearing that resurfaces the allegations that emerged during Cain’s presidential campaign.
