In D's defence, he's on the receiving end of a lot of that condescending/sarcasm type banter himself and is vastly outnumbered in terms of people who have an opposing opinion. Sure that's how most of us argue on here

Mate. He goes from thread to thread with this attitude that he is somehow enlightened. When he’s pulled up, he backtracks it says that’s not how he meant to come across. He’s either trolling (likely) or he has some mad superiority complex.

He likes talking about this stuff, let him at it as long as he stays within site rules imo.

I don't think he'd get nearly as much condescension if he wasn't arguably the most condescending person I've ever encountered on the internet - and that is one HELL of a tough list to crack.

If they're his genuinely held beliefs, then absolutely fine, but his "I'm above the herd, I'm smarter and more enlightened than all of you who disagree with me" mentality makes him seem like a troll, whether he is one or not

But it's pretty clear he gets a kick out of being a contrarian.
When you're living with the consequences of Trumps presidency, that can be hard to take.
Doesn't help when he upsets people and then tells them to 'chill'.

Imagine Allardyce was still in charge and we were 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table, there's a 'fat Sam' thread where there are a lot of Evertonians venting and then in comes DHolliday with no sound argument and tells us all we're being stupid getting so upset. It's fairly clear he's only looking for a reaction.

As most of yous don't trust my debate intentions i'd rather leave it be...honestly not interested in wumming, and i'm also not interested in receiving wumming.

It's just a shame as yous are effectively shutting down difference of opinion (Ruairi's Everton analogy doesn't work...Trump has a lot of support and it would do well for antis to understand why).

This thread is divided between ex-pats who live in America and Americans who have an interest in soccer.
Both these groups lean liberal and will debate anyone with reasoned arguments like @mezzrow.

It's a shame really. You seem to completely miss the personal impact of this presidency.
As for my analogy, sure, there are probably loads of Allardyce fans but you'll have to go to a Bolton forum to find them.

There's a few UK based Brits here too. Well... at least one. Sadly the US political scene has worldwide effects, and as such I tend to take an interest (or hold an obsession, if you asked my missus)
