Didn't read it ...I was just thinking that you were referring to a specific study, but you weren't.

Edit: though when I google "Groupthink 2.0" I don't see much come up, except many references to this paper.

i've seen and read a bit here n there, then combine with my own ideas.

anyway, i fully agree the trumpians are badly groupthink...you ever watch his rallies? i can only manage a few minutes but they really do lap up his every word, no matter how inane. it's almost trance-like.

Groupthink 2.0...there's a few non-partisan studies knocking about which go into heady detail on this, a couple of them use that very term. i say non-partisan because they're not focussed on the politics, but on the methods and effectiveness of online brainwashing...the Right are at it too.
