Those tweets are beyond the pale. Woeful bellend.
Saying that in response to a tweet about 3000 people who actually didn't survive

He rustles me something rotten.
That was a little humorous, a former Obama WH official ripped the Trump Administration for cutting the budget for diplomats and spending over $50k for shades, then realized it was done during the Obama administration.
The official that approved it of course defended the expense, citing security etc - and there may be some merit to that, he should have stopped while he was ahead, but wen't on to add
"All she’s got is a part-time maid, and the ability to open and close the curtains quickly is important"
Only a part-time maid, and if suddenly a bird flies by and she wants to open the curtains to see it before it's gone? Well, when you put it THAT way, it all makes sense!
To be sure, that's TX Bill's only strategy--to rustle. He is not actually good at arguing or even capable of defending a position he holds. He is custom-built for twitter, where you can issue substanceless sound-bytes and then block people who use facts to show you when you are wrong. So all he can do is try to make people angry by tweeting provocative nonsense. So childish. For example, he said in a tweet that the Obama administration is the most corrupt on history. This is so easily disprovable that even a 3rd grader could do it. Yet because it is on TX Bill's own twitter feed, he controls who answers and who he can block. Despite having strong political views that are presumably rooted in principles he believes in, he won't come here and defend those principles he holds so dearly. He can't even answer a simple question as to whether he agrees with Trump's policy regarding the forced separation of children from their parents at the border, despite me tagging him 4x. Instead it is all schoolyard "gotchya" tactics from a grown-up.
But they open and close quickly!!Spending 50K on curtains, no matter who is president, is just shameful.
Amazing how irresponsible deficits are when you're in the minority, and how necessary they are when you're the majority, regardless of party. Deficits every year since 1970 with the exception of the span 1998-2001. Interesting the only surpluses came with a Democrat in the White House (Clinton) with a GOP House and Senate. (2001 was still Clinton's budget)I’m not really a deficit hawk but these are awful numbers for this part of the business cycle. Republicans will also use them to justify restrictions on healthcare when they rediscover their “decifits are bad” mantra that only applies when Dems control a branch of government.
Personally wish it was far more tied to the business cycle. I’m extremely dovish on government spending during recessions for instance as I believe it replaces business/consumer expenditures, helps avoid the downturn feeding on itself and generally helps out people who are struggling. However when those business/consumers have recovered somewhat I turn far more hawkish on general expeditures, both because I think it can lead to bubbles and also to ensure that there is sufficient nest-egg for spending during the next downturn.Amazing how irresponsible deficits are when you're in the minority, and how necessary they are when you're the majority, regardless of party.
