Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Haha. It needs to happen. He is a terrible candidate. You know, I used to think the Cruz was the real threat, but everytime Trump opens his mouth......

He is already rescinding on all his pre-election promises, seems like he is only interested in the gig part-time (and I use gig intentionally, as that is how he is treating it). And he should be immune to the media, who already don't like him, criticizing him????????

Que?? No Comprende!

One of the best things he could do, if he wanted to avoid the media having a go, is SHUT THE HELL UP! But in actual fact, he loves the attention he is getting. He basks in it.

When he seemed to be in crash and burn mode about 4-6weeks out I said then all he has to do to win is keep his gob shut...but he kept on and on...I was saying just stfu...and he kept at it - AND STILL WON
I won't hold my breath waiting for him to shut up

He played to the crowd, he told them what they wanted to hear.

In reality, he's a lot more to the left than the likes of Cruz.

Possibly not really left, just less right.
A conservative with a small 'c' and a lot of daftish ideas, plus a big gob and plenty of money.
Now add to that to that The Presidency, to make some of them stick.

It's the American Dream innit...any divvy can be President and usually is

Certainly not. Sanders had a message and it resonated. The DNC didn't give an eff and unilaterally anointed Hillary, completely blind to her glaring deficiencies as a candidate. Nobody to blame but themselves

It resonated despite having about as much chance of being implemented as Trump's harebrained schemes. Really this boils down to a vote for fantasy over reality.

I reckon voters are tired being told their appetite for tangible change is a fantasy.

But it kind of is, isn't it? I mean for all of her flaws, Clinton has very thoroughly thought out policy statements in a whole host of areas. You could probably fit Trump's on the back of an envelope. In all honesty, he has know clue whatsoever whether any of what he proposes is a good idea, much less whether any of it is feasible. It's wing and a prayer governance.

Let me ask you, why do you believe he won the election in a thumping 306-232?

306-232 is far from thumping. But certainly Trump won, in part, by preying on a some voters I would classify as "idiots" and brilliantly spewing just about any extreme statement in order to energize a demographically mixed and poll-shy voting bloc. But he has since made many indications that some (but not all) of his extreme statements made during the campaign were mostly for show: climate change is a Chinese conspiracy, locking up Hilary, distancing himself from the alt-right, the wall between USA and Mexico, trade war with China, etc.

He's welcome to try a few of his most extreme statements, but he also is smart enough to realize that logistically he can't and should not follow through on some of the things he said when trying to get elected. For example, starting a trade war with China would be laughable since the USA owes China 1.1 trillion dollars (when was the last time you tried to push-around your banker?), or slapping a tariff on Mexican goods would result in Mexico losing jobs, which would result in more (not less) Mexicans trying to find a better life here in the USA. I suspect he'll try, but he'll have to build that wall first (which probably won't happen soon, if ever). As to locking Hilary up...well that's just not gonna happen. But I can assure you out where I live (very very red) people not only believed it, but took it seriously and literally. This was a discussion in the local gun a shops, and elsewhere.

The difference being that Sanders believed in what he was saying. He also made no illusions to the fact that he needed the support of at least the senate to achieve what he put forward.
Candidates usually campaign on points they believe in and hope to enact when elected.
Trump campaigned on what people wanted to hear. He had no intention on following through on his promises.
His voters are suckers and now we all have to live with the consequences.

Oh for sure, I don't doubt that Sanders is a much nicer and more erstwhile character than Trump, but nevertheless it's easy to say what's popular rather than what's possible, and I'm not sure his proposals were any more feasible than Trump's. In that sense, he's a populist just as Corbyn and UKIP are, they just approach things from different ends of the spectrum.

With all due respect, I disagree.
Sanders wanted to end tuition fees in public colleges. He would pay for this with a speculation tax on wall street.
He wanted to increase the tax intake from the super wealthy.
He wanted family leave.
He wanted a path to citizenship
He wanted to end TPP
He wanted a single payer healthcare system.
He wanted a more inclusive approach to the middle east.
Other than these things he planned to continue the path Obama had taken.
All of this was achievable with a blue Senate. And all far more thought out and achievable than Trumps empty rhetoric.
Make Mexico pay for a $35bn border wall, come on...
