Just to be clear, I'm not saying Trump is on (or capable of being on) that level of extremism, or that he's a despot in the making, I'm just wondering where @TheFinnFan draws the line on what are acceptable methods of winning at all costs.

My view is that if you're playing on peoples fears by placing the blame for your country not being "great" at the door of minority groups, then you're fair game to be challenged on that stance.

Yeah, I get that & because the election is so recent, it's bound to be a topic of conversation. However, I wonder if so much outraged opinion is directed at a disagreeable, divisive figure that real fascism goes relatively unscathed.

I agree, he has used demagoguery and played on peoples fears and achieved his own ultimate goal - well done to him. Does that mean we should all praise his triumph and that he's beyond criticism?

When middle eastern leaders victimise certain ethnic/religious groups as part of their strategy to attain power, is that also to be applauded?

People gave him mandate. Change was needed and Trump answered to the call.
Those who dont like Trump can criticise all they want but they need to accept the result and get on with their lives.

One big thing is that mainstream media has huge dent in their credibility and people have seen the true biasm and hypocrisy of it all. Media field is in turmoil and is going through a change. People dont accept force feeded opinions no more.

Lets not pretend that presidental elections have always been like sunday schools. Lets make one thing clear...I hate racism, it's stupid and dangerous. People use that word way too often...but as much as I hate racism I hate hypocrisy and one sided branding and labeling. Good example is how rioting liberals are treated in mainstream media and how media and "journalists" are attacking Trumps cabinet picks.

Surely if you think racism is dangerous, you would defend the right of the media to question Trump's cabinet members when links to racism appear to be prevalent.

And what do you mean, "one sided branding and labelling"? Are you suggestion that the criticism is only reserved for the right wing candidates?
