Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

No worries.

The Republican Party has been radicalised over the last decade, through a combination of their representatives and the harnessing of a certain, fairly unpleasant section of the population.

I can’t stand Paul Ryan due to how he’s basically rolled over to the party being hijacked, but it is no longer the party of Ryan etc. It’s the party of Trump and the likes of Moore, King etc.

The very fact that you (and I don’t mean personally, but because of the current rhetoric) mentioned MAXINE WATERS in the same breath as Moore and King just highlights how much of a problem the GOP has - there is just NO moral equivalency there.

While I am firmly left leaning (I believe in the likes of healthcare for all free at the point of access, free quality education, higher minimum wages, choice etc) it’s important to have a reasonable, viable (in terms of policy, not votes) opposition party. That’s why I think it’s important that the CURRENT GOP lose in an absolutely HUGE sense in the next couple of elections, so they can hopefully rebuild as the party they should be (and used to be, tbf).

That's respectable and fine in what you believe in. I have no issues in what you think is right. I think most average normal people want the best for each other, we just have different routes in how we believe that can be achieved.

Maxine waters is pretty up there though in terms of things you can't do. I didn't follow this king story, apparently he is Nazi or some crap, and Moore is gross. However, a political figure can not do what Maxine did. These people have to work together and she is a non starter in anything at this point. Trump is a nightmare with immigration policy, but she's just adding more fuel to the fire.

Maxine Waters is nuts. She thinks people want to hang her.

I don’t necessarily agree with Waters in everything, but what she said was that people should make it clear to members of the current administration that what they’re doing is unacceptable, and that they can’t just go about their lives and not expect pushback.

She DIDN’T condone violence (and indeed has specified that more directly since Trump started lying about what she initially said). I’ve no idea if people want to hang her, but do you HONESTLY reckon there isn’t a greater than 50% chance that she’s received a minimum of 1 death threat over the last week or so? I’d be astonished if she hadn’t.

My point isn’t “Waters is great”... it’s that if Waters is the low bar for the Dems and King/Trump are the low bar for Republicans - those two bars are NOT at the same level. (Excluded Moore since he didn’t win. But even getting to the point of being the nominee, and the aforementioned endorsements is an absolute stain on the party)

As for King, I’m not talking about him retweeting the Nazi (that’s just the latest symptom). Have a look into his history, his statements, his associates and his viewpoints. He’s reprehensible. He’s basically Roy Moore without the child abuse.

Fair enough. I agree the party certainly has a problem. The voters are part of it too. It's a mess, it has been a mess.

It amazes me that they somehow had the majority in Congress and the presidency.

I thought you were going at people who were conservative in America, my bad.

At this point there are all of about twelve people left in the United States who are conservative AND opposed to Donald Trump.

They all work for the Atlantic or the Weekly Standard, grifting perfunctory clicks out of liberals who fancy themselves broad-minded.

They regard themselves as gentlemen, men of honour, the last champions of chivalry, because they gave us the Iraq War and the surveillance state and the financial crisis in the right way, without resorting to cuss words on Twitter. Good day to you, Sir!

But apart from these rare and endangered birds, nothing remains of American conservatism independent of Donald Trump.

True, a small proportion of Trump voters are poor, confused, and desperate, and the Democrats deserved to lose for not even bothering to compete for them.

But the overwhelming majority of American conservatives are white, elderly, suburban, and eminently comfortable Trump supporters.

The welfare state was invented to service their every need, and they are helbent on hoarding their privileges. Their education, housing, healthcare, salaries, security, pensions, and savings have all been subsidised cradle-to-grave, by a state that forcibily barred anyone but other white men from competing for jobs and resources.

Yet they maintain an exquisite sense of martydom, their victimhood carefully fostered over the years by the procession of grifters and demagogues that is the post-Civil Rights Republican Party. They are history's most pampered generation, yet they are still JUST SO ANGRY, ALL THE TIME!!!

They vote for Trump not out of any ideological vision, or dreams of a better future, but because they are triggered by uppity black athletes infringing upon their sunday afternoon safe space. Or because the single mothers on minimum wage at the Applebees sometimes fail to attend them with the servility to which they're accustomed. Or because their grandchildren have tattoos and treat gay people like human beings and roll their eyes whenever grandpa falls back on his favourite gripes about "those people".

To scratch these most trivial of itches, they are prepared to rip up the rule of law, the constitution, international order, and even the climate itself, righteously shaking their fists at the clouds while the Republicans sow corruption and plutocracy that's staggering even by American standards.

American conservatives function like parasites, instinctively enriching themselves to the last breath even if destroys the host.

And the planet might never recover.

That deserves to end the thread tbh. If only we didn’t have a couple more years of this :-(

That post doesn't even deserve a response.

All you guys did is what about this and what about that.

12 people who are conservative who oppose Trump and thanks for italicizing their publications. You two are so pretentious, I'm done.

I'm too tired right now to respond to this post. But quote me or whatever and I will
It's a whole mixture of non sense and a lot of you talking on stuff you don't know about but I'll cover it all at one point.

The players kneeling, happened after Trump was elected. I hate that some people get offended by it, they're completely right to do it.

I'm just gonna stop it feels like a waste of time because you only see what you want and want to talk about. Whenever I've seen a point of yours get a response you just move to a next one.

I hate what Trump did at G7, I hate his trading tariffs. But I don't exist according to you.

Honestly man, you need to try to understand the other side a bit more.

Comparing and contrasting to show a difference is not whataboutism.

Conflating Maxine Waters with Trump/King/Moore certainly IS.

Though I agree that there aren’t only 12 anti-Trump conservatives by the way. A far better phrasing would have been “there’s only about 12 conservatives of any relevance who oppose Trump”

I’m not sure why you’re taking it so personally? No one has said YOU agree without trump or side with him?

Despising the current Republican Party (or even a large portion of today’s American Conservatives) is not the same as despising the entire notion of conservatism (even if disagreeing with a large portion of its policies, I hasten to add).

What, you are going to let me join your click! Thanks, tell me who you’re leader is and I’ll nod my head and agree with everything he says

There is no "click", once again with the paranoid stuff.

You do realise coming into a thread where 95% of the participants have issues with the current administration especially Trump you were always going to get push back.

The fact that you came in with the usual repetitive garbage fox and friends and his supporters spout on a daily basis meant the people you are trying to debate or convince saw through you argument or point.

Your main talking points were verbatim to what his supporters, his twitter and his media allies spout on a daily basis.

Clearly when called out and rebutted, you went on the attack, calling anyone who disagreed with you snowflakes etc... It's the usual tactic we see in this thread.

There is only a handful of guys who give as good as they get on here and whether we agree with them or not they generally have points of substance and not the usual rhetoric.Clearly you are not one of them.

Claiming to have read the entire thread to catch up and then spouting stuff easily argued is not a good start.

No one I know was complaining about it, just pointing it out, they over react and I think it’s fair to show this. it makes me laugh the lefty liberal snowflakes getting het up over not getting their way. If they don’t like what’s happening give valid reasonable debating methods a go, then the likes of me will change my views on certain policies and issues. But crying screaming and threatening will never persuade me to take them seriously. Come in Russia :)))

And where’s your empathy for genuine American citizens who are raped and killed by the illegal aliens.

Aaahhhh shut down the speech you don’t like you lefty liberal probably Anita member bye bye sugar plum

No ones saying they’re “all murderers” etc, he just wants to process and make it so legal genuine people come into the country. Which if it’s so bad why are millions trying to get into Trumps America, how bad must their countries be

Haha me calling something petty is being a snowflake. I ain’t got no anger but you seem triggered sweetie

Best most of these
Haha bet you’re a college student or a union man, get out in the real world sweetie. Remember why would I be angry, we won Brexit, tories and republicans haha bet your fuming cos I’m not..

Winners don’t get angry, but we get a kick out of angry losers like yourself... 3-0

Go and get your balaclava and do a anti free speech darling but make sure you let mom and Pa what time you’ll be back for supper haha

Because you know you have no solid argument my friend!!! If I was in a platform I’d bet you shout me down with some silly meaningless chant!!! True isn’t it

I, for one, am grateful that a well-adjusted, calm, and successful businessman, who would never embarrass themselves with crass and juvenile posts, has given their measured input about the "real world" to all us naive, young antifa university students.

If what Maxine Waters did is so bad then what should we do about Trump labeling journalists the enemy of the people and then a newsroom getting shot up?

The Republican party has made false equivalency and at times straight up hypocrisy an art form in the last few years. The Waters thing is just another example

Maxine Waters is nuts. She thinks people want to hang her.

Never noticed this gem before.

You realise she gets dozens of death threats on a daily bases though right? I think it was last year when she read some of what was being sent to her or posted on twitter or something i cannot remember. Not just her either other Democrats have been threatened. Maxine Waters being black probably means she gets more vile stuff.

She has said many times she has received many forms of communications threatening her life, so its not far removed that she thinks people want to hang her. Especially how triggered the Neo Nazis and extreme right has become since Trump got elected.

The very fact Trump insults and mocks her and other democrats on twitter seemingly gives rise to perceived acceptable behavior among them to threaten Democrats. I guess the more of a minority or darker the skin the more vile the threats
