It's amazing to me that she would wear that jacket.

I've kind of felt bad for her for the most part. I don't think being the first lady was ever something she considered or wanted. She clearly didn't want to move to DC and I think she was like most of us when he first ran, it was Donald being Donald to run for president. He'd get the attention, appeal to the populist. Lose, and be able to just say he put everything on the line for this country, and tried to make it better. Lose, then spend the remainder of his life appealing to those populists in cushy media jobs criticizing the government.

Then he won. But that jacket is indefensible. He's so dysfunctional even in his personal life you can come up with plausible theories all over.

That jacket is such a horrible decision, I have to believe she's sabotaging it. Not that I really believe it, but to wear that jacket in those circumstances, and for not one person to advise her otherwise is mind boggling.

He's shown he's inept and he'll do it every time. Just like at the G7, so it's probably they are just this awful at what they do and I'm in denial.

Melania is a former model and is usually impeccably dressed in stylish designer fashion. The chances that she accidentally threw on a $40 jacket, one with an obvious slogan that perfectly coordinated with her footwear, not once but twice and in over 80 degree heat without her trying to send a message is significantly less than England’s odds of winning this World Cup.

Even if you take the most charitable assumption that it wasn’t addressed to the kids who were locked up but instead to either the press or her husband it is still hard to believe it isn’t a deliberate attempt to take attention from their issues to any hardships of her own.

Given she herself is an immigrant and bar some accident of fate could be on the other side of those chain link fences I find it quite remarkable she would deem this an appropriate time for such a statement.

I agree with almost all you say, that's why I hope it's the sabotage theory and she leaves his ass once he's impeached. It's just such a horrible look, and it doesn't just stop at her wearing it. It's the fact no one in their camp had the will to say, you can't wear that today.

It reflects a lot of what they believe they can do, will do, and the type of people they have surrounded themselves with.

I just hope she follows through on her offer to re-unite the families.

Regardless of her motives or what pr would be involved if she could shorten the time these kids are apart from their parents it would be an overall good.
 
Scandolous that the media have once again scraped the barrel to find a way to attack him and his wife. She was wearing a 40 Dollar coat from Zara. Maybe she should have used thousands of Dollars of the Americna taxpayer's money to wear a designer dress like previous First Ladies. They really will use anything to attack them, it's pretty disgusting. You'd think, she travelled to the place to personally spit in the face of each of the children there, which couldn't be further from the truth.
