Perhaps, but really it’s not about cost or return, if this helps to bring NK into today’s world it will help millions in NK.......it’s got to be worth it.......

Trump does not give fu¢k@ll about citizens of NK (or the USA for that matter). Kim Jong-un doesn't either. Please take off your rose colored glasses.

Indeed. But Trump has American troops stationed in SK and there is still the little matter of nukes. Kim on the other hand wants to see the world and enjoy his money. My comment was not suggesting that either man gave a damn, merely what would be the outcome....

Does he really not know that NK has made the same promises to denuclearize, indeed in much more specific language, about 8 times in the past 25 years and has reneged every time?

Even if he believes after a few minutes meeting that Kim is sincere and this time is different how about “trust but verify” and wait until there are actual reductions in weapons capabilities before declaring “peace in our time”.

The economy is going to be a very important factor in the midterms - will be interesting to see how much of any wage growth from a tightening labor market and tax cuts is eaten into by increases in prices of goods, energy and health care.

U.S. producer prices rose more than forecast in May as the cost of fuels surged by the most in three years, a Labor Department report showed Wednesday.

The report shows that prices received by producers are picking up in response to both sturdy domestic demand and U.S.-imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum. It followed figures on Tuesday that showed consumer prices accelerating in the 12 months through May by the most in more than six years.

The cost of steel mill products climbed 4.3 percent in May, the biggest advance since February 2011, the report showed.

And if the republicans had their way there'd be no push for increased minimum wage and that number would be far worse.
The tariffs are really going to hit this group hard as well unfortunately.

I mentioned previously that I’d brought a new washing machine recently and the dealer had said it was a pity it hadn’t failed a few weeks previous before the tariffs came in - the data is beginning to reflect those real world impacts and they will be expanding to everything made with steel/aluminum.

Details are important and disagreements over verification have scuttled past Korean pledges so Pompeo himself is being utterly ridiculous here saying the press shouldn’t ask. Especially hypocritical since the Trump administration used a claim that verification wasn’t vigorous enough as one of the reasons to abandon the Iran deal.
