Am I using a religious argument to delegitimize Trump? Or am I calling a evangelical who weighs in on politics a hypocrite?

We won't be worse off IMO.

My guess is that if you're honest about it, you'd like to delegitimize Graham because you dislike evangelical Christians and place blame on them for electing Trump. To that end, you'll happily use a religion-centered argument for that purpose.

And I think we'll be worse off. But I also suspect we have very differing thoughts about what should be/remain core ideals for America, so I suspect we probably disagree on a more fundamental level than simply whether or not evangelicals should be permitted to weigh in on political matters.

Yet, people like you seek to use religious arguments to delegitimize Trump (OMG Stormy!). It's intellectually laughable.

Thankfully, Franklin Graham and others, including far more abhorrent people, are still allowed to influence politics and anything else they like in America. Long may that last (it probably won't, and we'll be worse off for it).

Do you consider yourself Evangelical?

Delegitimize Graham? His statements on Clinton and Trump was massive hypocricy because of politics. His views on Islam are abhorrent and have no place in this country. His public views on Obama's legitimacy as a Christian is ridiculous and infuriating. He delegitimizes himself as a virtuous person by being partisan.

Regarding evangelicals. They are always going to vote conservative. Alot are one issue voters.

I suspect you are right. I don't fear a changing nation that continually fights to truly stand by the words that all men are created equal. I don't long for better times gone by...I don't romanticize the past as it wasn't that great. I look to the future.

I agree on his Clinton hypocrisy. I doubt all of his views on Islam are abhorrent. I don't judge Obama's Christianity, other than to say I didn't see much influence in his presidency.

There are a lot of evangelical Christians with socially liberal leanings. I imagine they're caught in a bind between a party that they think rejects tolerance and one that rejects them.

The remainder of your post is typically passive aggressive. I don't fear progress, but I do celebrate telling the truth and personal responsibility, even if those notions offend. I believe that all men are created equal, and I believe that I don't need to check my privilege nor memorize the latest list of gender pronouns to hold that position.

Trump is (as if we didn’t all know already) an absolute disgrace.

He is wilfully making the world less safe

1) to satisfy his massive inferiority complex by tearing down yet another of Obama’s accomplishments

And

2) to distract from his own legal troubles, brought about by decades of his own corruption followed by an equally corrupt campaign and administration.

Every day he manages to plumb new depths, which given his previous conduct, is pretty f****** impressive.

Whether these things are true or not (they're probably not), pretending there isn't considerable support for getting out of the Iran deal is silly. It was highly controversial at the time and was a notable campaign issue.
