Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I have no choice but to wait and see what happens. I do think, however, there should be some type of end game when the collusion angle strikes out, which I believe it has.

I think people have good reason to doubt the FBI and DOJ considering everything that's happened in the last couple of years, on both sides. While having a legal background probably makes me more deferential to those entities than some, I think it's entirely reasonable to ask questions, like whether there is pressure on Mueller's team to find something significant to justify the cost and attention provided to this investigation. I've said I have no issue with the Cohen referral, so obviously I don't think "there should never be any investigation into anyone surrounding the President."

But, I also have no real inkling (other than my own suspicions about some Cohen real estate deals) about what else the investigation could be on to. Given that, and given that I think there is a sizable portion of our electorate, our agencies and our Congress that want to find something, anything, to use against Trump, I don't think it's all that realistic to expect conservatives to wait indefinitely without at least asking the questions I'm posing.
Why do you think the collusion angle has striked out - as I say it is incredibly early compared to other similar investigations and we still have no idea what lines of enquiry have been set in motion by Papadopoulos, Gates and Flynn’s co-operation not to mention that Cohen documents who is on the record as having very few clients other than Trump and who the SDNY haven’t even been given permission to look at yet! Cohen was the guy who did a lot of foreign dealmaking for Trump, including the proposed Russian hotel, so I think that is still very much within original scope to look at.

I also think it entirely reasonable to ask questions but you were originally posting that “Mueller needs to finish this up and let the findings speak for themselves.” which is a step beyond merely asking questions.

Btw did you have the same concerns during the investigation of Clinton emails or Benghazi?

Sure. I don't think an investigation premised on Russian interference should be a ticket to conduct a criminally-focused investigation into the entirety of the President's history, however.
sorry, I thought you were talking about Mueller.
On the Cohen thing, it seems like Mueller is going about this calmly and methodically. I would imagine any collusion between Trump and Russia might be closely linked to Trumps Russian business deals and therefore Cohen. Hardly a stretch. Any info picked up by Mueller not related to Russia is passed to the Feds who raid Cohens office. They can then chase any lead they want, including possible illegal payments to Stormy Daniels/dodgy taxi deals/insurance fraud etc. Straight forward enough, no?

I understand how criminal referrals work. But surely you can understand how open ended that can become.

"We did a criminal referral for Cohen on a campaign finance violation, found at some point that didn't actually occur, but in the process got on the scent of _______."

Of course not, see above.
But that's exactly what's happening. They're following the evidence as they find it.

Also, if Trump and those around him are truly innocent, maybe they should stop habitually lying every time they open their mouths - which at this point is an irrefutable fact as multiple of them have directly contradicted others (including the President contradicting HIMSELF on various occasions).

It's my belief the collusion aspect struck out. I think Mueller will end up reaching the same conclusion, and probably already has. If I'm wrong, and if there is real evidence of collusion, then I want to know, however.

Sure, I think Mueller needs to finish this up. I think he probably will actually. That's obviously not the same as demanding he be fired or something.

I didn't have the same concerns about the Clinton email investigation, but I wouldn't necessarily fault someone who did. I do think that investigation was flawed, and that there was far more evidence of actual crime commission by the true target (Clinton) than there is thus far (that we've seen) with regard to Trump.

Regarding Benghazi, I don't think it ever should have become the circus it was. Benghazi was a botched scenario where the administration panicked, invented a lie, and engaged in a brief cover up. The fact that the administration knowingly lied to the American people to cover up it's ineptitude is a scandal, but we knew early on.

I agree to some extent, Trump doesn't do himself any favors.

And I also agree that if a perjury charge leads to an obstruction charge leads to a bank fraud charge, that's just how it works. But I find the Stormy scenario to be a particularly weak tie, and I would hope that we don't string together 6 more months of criminal referrals premised on the $2000 fine campaign finance violations.

NBC corrects Cohen wiretap report on air: “Three senior US officials are telling us that this was not a wiretap. Instead it was what is referred to as a pen register. That means it is a log of phone calls that were made from a specific phone line or a specific phone lines."

1. Giuliana started yesterday.
2. 33000 emails.
3. We won the election in a landslide.
4. Why aren't they investigating democrats?
5. Rudy is a great guy. He just started yesterday and will get his facts straight.

Anyone who believes a word out of his mouth is an utter moron. The man can't speak truthfully.

Ah yes Giuliani who took credit from policies and work the previous mayor had implemented and who really only made himself a household name because of a travesty which killed many Americans and because of his "reaction" somehow he was a hero. He even tried to extend his term "because America needed him" his words haha!!

He never fought for the workers to get compensated at the recovery site nor did he help or talk to many of the families of victims. All he did was a few speeches and visited the site.

Even before he was mayor he was known for his homophobic behavior, his bigotry and overall rudeness.

He allegedly took bribes from Trump types too and most of New York were glad to see the back of him.

Hes a bully and a weasel so really he is in good company.

I’m not sure he even knows what the truth is any more, it is just a stream of consciousness

Some mornings it hits me harder than others.
Heard a piece on the radio this morning about upcoming republican primaries across the country.
They were falling over each other to show who loves Trump more. All using terms like 'Crooked Hillary, fake news media, witch hunt..etc.'
Honestly, half the country seems brainwashed.
There's a Georgian candidate aiming a gun at a teen and a W.Virginia nut bashing the 'china man'. It's an endless stream of insanity.
