here's today's gem:

On the final day of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the editor of one of the country’s leading magazines felt it appropriate to compare President Donald Trump’s inauguration to incestuous rape.

In a tweet posted Monday afternoon, Virginia Heffernan, a contributing editor for Wired, referred to former President Barack Obama as “our true father” and equated Trump to “a stepfather who was going to rape us”:

They can't help themselves.

Amazing. Unhelpful. Idiotic.

Feels like someone was trying for clicks.

It's not so minor if you live in a high state income tax jurisdiction. The influx of retirees from the Northeast and Illinois have an outstanding positive impact on my property values here in Florida. No state income tax here.

Lucky for Florida then i guess. It doesn't really help Californians.

Apart from people getting "bonuses" from their employer it has done little else. Mad thing is most of those people have probably complained over the years of not getting wage increases and yet are delighted to get a small bonus.

Taxes in California are some of the highest including the state tax and the tax reform has done nothing for us. Because of the caps on deductions and removal on other deduction it hurts us more who already pay more for property. The write off change too on property for mortgages was lowered which also affects us.

I actually don't have a problem with lowering the corporate tax rate. Competition is healthy. My problem is with where they have decided to make up the loss to the exchequer.
Tripadvisor are headquartered not far from me. Last year their CEO made $48 million. He earned 500 times the median income of his employees. Not far from his office, there are communities with terrible schools, closed libraries and crumbling infrastructure. I'd straight up tax the bejesus out of people like him. Maybe it might encourage tripadvisor to invest less in one person and more in their community.
