Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I agree, I would never have anticipated that I'd have to have some "new-found standard" regarding a president who referred to a bunch of white Nationalists and neo-Nazis as "very fine people."

Not sure what you're looking for here. I'm not going to bat for Trump on his handling of Charlottesville.

But I'm not going to scream at the sky and demand impeachment because POTUS is an inarticulate buffoon. The question I pose, to myself, is whether I think he's a bigot. I don't. So I get on with it.

See this is the problem.

It also explains why those in the pool lambasted Wolf. For fear of being blacklisted by the White house. This should never be the case. Their should be no fear among the press to say what they need to say. Those in the press pool who themselves have been on the wrong end of crap from the white house and keep their mouths shut then decide to have a go at Wolf for her act. Madness. Instead of doing their jobs they let the white house off and seemingly now pander to them.

Unless a reporter makes threats or something so distasteful to deserve a ban but even then your lot harp on about free speech so much but at the same time condone this thinking that they are all liars and not to be trusted.

Trumps narrative that the press are evil and liars will then in their eyes be proven correct. Thing is she is a comedian and not press (Wolf that is). She was invited by whoever hosts the event to do stand up and a roast to the press in the audience.

Nah, the press panicked about Wolf because Americans (rightfully) don't trust the press. Acosta goes on TV and calls Trump an authoritarian strongman daily, and he's still around.

The people who are worried are people like Maggie Haberman and Jake Tapper, who I think genuinely want to be journalists. People fighting an ideological war and masquerading as journalists make their lives more difficult.

All they have to do to be immune to Trump’s attacks is to not be preening, brazenly partisan, and openly crazy. And they can’t even do that.

Exactly. It's a cycle Trump exploits.

Left-leaning media was clearly a "thing" far before Trump came along, but Trump has attacked them and led his supporters to do the same, which only emboldens the media establishment to further wage war against him under the guise of journalism.

The result is a lot of Americans going "I don't like that Trump says that type of thing, but what is this nutjob Ana Navarro talking about? These people are all loony"

I'm not looking for anything, and not suggesting you are going to bat for Trump regarding C'ville (or on any other issue for that matter). I'm just responding and agreeing with your comment about how a lot of new-found standards are being floated here in the last 14 months. They are being floated because of Trump's behavior/statements, which has put a new low on standards of presidential comportment. It forces people to have new-found standards like "I wish our president wouldn't mock disabled people" or "perhaps it would be nice if our president cleanly and transparently separated his business interests from national interests" or "I wish our president wouldn't lie so much, including about completely idiotic psuedo-issues regarding Obama's birth certificate" etc.

and the list goes on....
Well said!

All good standards to have. Hopefully we can all encourage Trump to do better in those areas over the next 6 years.

Which explains why he promotes Fox News so much, and makes appearances on Fox and Friends. Because they are none of those things.

Hence, the left throws poo at Fox news, and the right flings poo at every other news outlet. That thing you feel when you can't get away from Fox News? Pretty powerful, isn't it?

That's what the "deplorables" feel when they see practically everything else. Fox laughs all the way to the bank (check the ratings and ad time rates) and the rest watch their ratings sink and fight the inexorable pull away from newspapers and broadcast media.

JBP asked an interesting question on Maher that never really got a response. If the left is successful in overthrowing Trump via lawfare, what are you going to do with that 40% or so of Americans that support him? We're talking about millions of people here. How will you be skillful enough to prevent widespread demonstrations or worse, violence, as a response? "How many Wacos will it require to enforce the will of your desire?" Lots of armed crazy types out there that love them some Trump. I'm not saying they are justified or correct, but they are there.

Has that been taken into account? I love this country and really don't want to us go down that path. I was all for Scott Warren and didn't want to go down this Trump path either, but CNN and the Clinton campaign decided that Trump was going to be the GOP nominee and we have what we have today. Meanwhile, the economy hums along, little Kim is shaking hands with the ROK president, and I'd be pretty chuffed except when I see Trump standing behind the presidential seal.

So that's what that smell was.

Never got a response on the show? No idea, didn't watch the whole thing. But I posted a video in response, and I think others did too, in that thread. I won't regurgitate what it said - but urge you to look it up. But it's just JP playing up to his right-leaning base. And his double standard when it comes to Trump supporters. Does he show concern towards the what? 60-50 odd % (depending on what poll you want to use) that dislike Trump? Do we let Trump do whatever he pleases without checks and balances just to appease the dwindling % of supporters? SecularTalk explained it better than I could.

How's that working for you so far?
