If you read back, Michelle Obama is tipped for next president.
I can think of two reasons why that won't happen.

Just amazes me how much public backing was for Clinton. everyone and anyone all got behind her and it still didn't work.

She's a thoroughly unappealing candidate when given any real analysis

She's establishment through and through and merely represents more of the same to a lot of people, and it was those people the Democrats needed to win the election

Trump, as much of a gimp as he most certainly is, has that ability to win those people around because he is a Maverick and has an ability to connect with people

If The Democrats had been brave and gone for Sanders, they would have had their own Maverick and would have likely won it

Genuinely mate, have a bit of a read. He's a total moron for compromising his principles and going for Leave but even those in the FO who expected him to crash and burn have been seriously impressed already. In fact you could go as far as to say it's bloody fortunate that at a time like this we've got a secret Remainer with a bit of talent going across the water for negotiations

Seriously though, saw a doc on him earlier in year about his University days. Went to Oxford (I think) with Cameron. Whereas Cameron was a silver spoon jobbie Boris relied on a scholarship. Despite being from such a humble background he used his charm and popularity to get him invited to all the society bashes and secret clubs usually reserved for the elite. Was very politically active and high up in student union. Conversely Cameron was very much the reluctant politician and probably only became one because it was expected of him.

Point is he has always had to work hard and influence people to advance in life and theres a lot more too him than his bungling public image.

For what reason?

So the government we elect in Britain are sovereign and cannot be overruled by unelected. So we avoid the collateral when the EU inevitably collapses. So we don't have to bail out other countries. So we can arrange our own trade deals where ever we want on terms we want. To avoid the further repatriation of UK powers to Brussels. And to control our own borders.

Absolutely agree with that mate. Theresa May making all these barbed quips at his expense is just about the worst thing she can possibly do - will only incentivise him more.

Thankfully Johnson will go over to the States (and he's either very astute or very luck, or both, as he wasn't Clinton's favourite after the mad nurse comment) and not some buffoon like Patel or Hammond
