Never saw anything in him until second half of one of the matches this season and then for 75% today. Bossed it.

Kinda reminds me of Harry Kane, you see them and think "no way if he a premier league footballer" but just seems to get it right.

Gladly tip my cap if he can add a good amount of goals to his game.

Decent performance, made something out of nothing a few times. His support was a bit disappointing, but he has shown enough to be a good back up striker this season. Shouldn't play much on the wings.

A great performance from DCL tonight and my MoM for his sheer persistence , workrate and the runs he made. Koeman gave his instructions and DCL followed them out to the letter , when the ball was cleared in his direction he was always there making a go for the ball. Lots of development left in him too.

My MoM too and I didn't even want him playing. Very happy to accept I was wrong and would love for DCL to perform like that whenever he's given a start. Still need a proven striker and for DCL to be used off the bench. Koeman will be livid if he isn't able to bring one in.

My point was one poor header and it's 6 points with DCL not scoring but contributing to both goals with assists. Lukaku scored 25 goals and we achieved nothing last year. This lad being prolific isn't a massive issue for me whilst he's learning.

It's not an issue for him and his career. He's doing really well, based on tonight. Rooney's goals from number 10 probably won't be enough for a top 6 finish though. I feel I should say I'm certainly not trying to slate DCL here.

Oh I fully agree we need an upgrade, I just meant that from what little we have seen from him playing as a forward, its hard to tell if he will be a 15 goal a season player or one who will only get 6-7.

True, I'm just going off what I've seen so far in suspecting (as opposed to stating as fact) that he mightn't be the most prolific goalscorer. We'd need a good half season to get a clearer picture. I'm encouraged that Koeman seemingly rates him highly, mind.

no way, we bring in someone for forty million this kid will never get a game all season. we need to stick with him and Sandro and see where we go, rotating with Da Roon.
