2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The question you need to ask yourself about DCL is will he make the XI better under Moyes than how he played under Dyche, Lampard or Rafael?

Because under a good manager, he scored a good set of goals.

I think he does.

Where is this coming from, mate?

If we are the only prem club that is willing to talk to him now, I would times the figure he’s after by whatever percentage his availability has been over the course of his current contract.

And then give him the opportunity to make up the rest in various performance bonuses.

my concern would be the only manager that really got consistent goals out of him was Carlo, and as good as Moyes may be he ain't no Ancelotti, and Dom's body has been through a lot since then too.

If he was to sign a new deal (personally i think for all parties its probably time to move), and he was to stay fit he would be a real asset to the team. He's still the best striker we have but that 'if' around fitness is a big 'if' and if we have asportations to be anything other than a lower mid table side we need a better goal return from our No9. And yes, playing as the lone striker in a Dyche-Ball system is a thankless task and i get why he reportedly hated it but the numerous baron runs he went on - he had plenty of chances to score - he missed plenty of sitters. Yes he needs better tactics, better players around and better service but he also needs to finish the chances he gets, He needs to be better too.

If it’s a base salary of say £60k per year, then pay as you play for £200k per match it might be good business.

Its a no brainer really economically. He will get a 5-6 mill salary on a three year deal prob with an option.

If we went to the market we aren't getting a striker worthy of the name for a 20 mill fee (Hello Neal Maupay) and then the 5/6mill in wages anyway.

Look at the economy pf the Beto and Chermitti deals - im not Doms biggest fan - but ultimately its the best thing for the club - if we can negotiate it.

I also think if Dom sings Beto goes and another comes in.

Its the right time to sell Beto - his profile wont get higher.
