Nobody wants to sign him to a free a contract so he's come back to us and started negotiating again. What is going to make someone give us a fee for him?

This has to be the plan.

Wrap him up in Cotton wool until November, then get him psyched/kloppozaded up to go on a purple patch of form in the run up to Jan, then hope some dimwit relegation threatened club stump up the £££ before he breaks again.
