2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

What's the stakes?

newcastle?
Wolves?
Brighton?
Brentford?
Sheff utd?

Would have signed by now (to stay), outside bet Villa?

Would be great if he went back to Sheff United (if they got promoted). Him and Tommy D back together.

He'll be after the last big contract though.

Wouldn't be surprised him going abroad

He's one of the worst one-on-one strikers in world football. I'm not even joking, he's got to be bottom 5% in terms of scoring one-on-ones. He completely relies on someone making it work for him. "we played the ball on the deck" means nothing when he's just one of the worst finishers in the last 3+ years.

This has been discussed so much on here, but when you get possibly one chance in a game, the pressure to score is immense but also it is highlighted even more when DCL misses and we then lose/draw whatever. This was happening in most games under Dyche.

Under Moyes, I still believe DCL would be scoring a lot more simply because he will get many more chances under the way we play now.

Beto missed two ridiculous one on ones against Brentford and it cost us the game. Barely read anyone being miffed about it. DCL misses even difficult chances and he gets grief. It is not his fault that atrocious recruitment in the final third has meant he is the only attacker and is feeding off scraps and the odd good cross.

I stand by, when DCL is fit, he is a top striker. My fear is how much those muscle injuries are taking their toll.

I pray he gets a new contract just too see the record number of heads off in here
Not going to lie mate, it would absolutely wreck my head to see him given a new deal.

For a variety of reasons, I want to see the end of our association with the player.

I'm annoyed the club managed to get to a position where he can leave on a free, but equally I don't think he's worth anything like the wages it would take to keep him.

Good in the air, works hard, can score goals if you provide them on a plate 6 yards out, but give him a 1 on 1 and he makes Darwin Nunez look like Thierry Henry, his link up play is patchy and has a fitness record that would make Broja blush. And with all that taken into consideration he's *allegedly* asking for £150k per week.

Honestly, us bowing to his contract demands would be the single worst decision we've made since appointing Benitez to me

Im not saying he cant do ANYTHING, but at some point and time we have to put a real team out. We need to move on as a team and have him not taking up a bunch of resources and a spot. We need to bring in a real good striker, and develop Chermiti. If we bring him back at a high wage how are we signing a good striker to lead the line or getting Chermiti any match time?

Will take whatever happens if he stays then well beto needs be sold then get real striker in to fight for that starting position. And if he goes wish him the best has still scored massive goals in his time here.

Think id prob send chermitti on loan if we can thought would have pushed this season and played nore but injuries has ruined his season

They were two bad misses, but I think us going to sleep on the verge of HT gave Brentford a goal that they didn`t deserve that cost us. I still have nightmares when I think of the one DCL missed at Villa Park when we were 2-1 up. He got put through and had just the keeper to beat and the defender made up ground to take the ball off his toe. That miss cost us that day and we were still starting nearly every game with DCL up front until he got injured.
