Strikers live for scoring goals. He felt confident to take it, let him take it. He missed. Oh well. People miss penalties. No blame from me on this. So many other issues to pick up on, other than a missed penalty.

Was obviously not matchfit. And everyone can miss a penalty, but I do not feel confident in DCL as the penalty taker. It's a bit the same as when he comes alone with the goalkeeper, or when he gets the opportunity to finish outside 6 yards. He lacks composure, and has no particularly good shooting technique.

Thought he showed some good hold up play towards the end. Great play for the 2nd goal.

Well again plenty of players don't hit the target. Fernandes blazed one over earlier in the season.

It was a bad pen. Should have kept things simple. His other pens for us (there's only been 2) were very good. He's been out for 4 months so maybe in hindsight it would have been better to give it to Gray but Dom's the penalty taker at the end of the day.

No issue missing a pen it happens but I hate these silly run ups or in his case lack of it. Can you really do what you want to do from two paces?

It was probably always likely. We've got Leicester to think about and Dom won't have it in him yet to play 3 games in a week.

That being said, it's why I've been saying for months it's completely mental for our manager to be saying 'wait until the second half of the season' and acting like Dom being back somehow stops us being crap at defending. Shock horror, it doesn't.
