Damning indictment on Silva that he rates this lad, says a lot about the manager.

Good man management? Just maybe he was trying to instil some confidence in the lad, judging by the fact he was out only viable option up front we had last season. Think it’s more telling that we’ve been linked with numerous forwards this pre season. Silva/Brands aren’t stupid, they know we can’t achieve what they want as a club, with DCL leading the line.

Because Richarlison is much better out wide then played centrally. DCL was started because we had no other options, something we’ll hopefully address in the next couple of weeks.

Going off past interviews, I think Brands rates him more than Silva. I can see why; if he improved his finishing then he could be a top striker. But we can't wait around to see if that happens, be criminal if we don't get a striker in.

We played our best football of last season with DCL up top at the end of the campaign, and Richarlison out wide right.

Would finishing not be the easiest thing to developer if you just worked your ass off on it morning noon and night like a demon. Like he has a lot in his locker he's just that simple acting of striking that ball accurate and hard out of reach to a keeper. Surely over the summer he should be waking up on the morning and going over it then going sleep. Cause it's all he needs to be really good.

The ironic thing is I'd say Dom could empty a mean bin. And somewhere out there on the suburban streets of Liverpool there's a misguided young lad emptying your bin that can slot with his eyes closed.

Has to be a mental thing often when he's in a position like 10 yards out even when it opens up its like he gets stags fright. He hits and hopes usually hits the keeper without the keeper knowing about it.

Hes only been back in training 5 days, cut him a bit of slack, he ended the season strongly.

Dom will be alright, needs more games and experience...that's a problem though because we don't play two up front and we need precision with the minimal chances we create. He's close to an ideal backup in terms of where he's at but he shouldn't be leading the line right now; occasionally, yes...but no more than a handful against select opponents/games.

For his age he's not a horror show and, crucially, his fundamentals are good which sets him up well for the coming years. I think he'll have a couple more seasons of (hopefully) steady growth and then I have a feeling it'll all come together for him. He's def worth the effort, IMO.
