I can imagine it´s hard to say no to a £10M+ offer, but I´d be sad to see him go. AJ is a good player, but didn´t really fit in last season. Nevertheless, he´s attitude and work ethic is something to give credit for and he´s also mentioned, he wouldn´t want to leave EFC.

This case just shows us, what the real situation with the money (what money!) is at the moment. Sad, but true. It isn´t quite hard to remember those quotes from several mouths: "We are in good position now, and we don´t have to sell any players..." Blaah, blaah, blaah.

Some others need to know that we'll likely be selling AJ for circa £10M in order to fund the acquisition of a replacement forward and Carsley replacement with the same money. We should all be up in arms against this dilution of squad quality and strength, but some dont see it and think the club are going to run out and buy a forward for the same fee as we get for Johnson.

How do you know that? do you have inside info? We migh be ready to spen big an just waiting for players to become avalible. Selling Aj to get another forwad in might just be a bonus.

I dont, I said that's what we are likely to be doing. And given the lack of activity in the transfer market I'd say I'm reading the situation just about right.

I agree mate, im very worried about are lack of spending. But that doesn't mean were selling to buy. The gaffer an the club have been very coy from the start regarding transfer money. We'll just have to wait to see what happens.

Their might be 30m their to spend, but no one has become avalible. The mamager always spends wisely. So dont expect him to splash the cash on just anyone. He's been burnt before. (VDM, Koldrup) Dont think he'll do it again.

Im sure the door will start opening soon.........it just has to.

I dont think we do have to sell. We've come out and said AJ isnt for sale, its rumoured that its up to AJ if he wants to leave because, as said, 10mill is a good return on the player.

I wouldnt want to sell him no, he's a good player and adds much needed options to our attack. For years we had a slow team, no pace, no counter attack, but then AJ signed and all that changed, we now hit teams fast and they cant keep up. For years I envied Arsenals counter attack ability, and AJ and Arteta on form sometimes closely emulate that for us.

But saying that, AJ isnt a £10 million pound player, so if we were offered that for a 27 year old then it would be difficult to turn down.

For Bent yes, for Milito no!

Im not panicing, im sure Moyes has enough about him to have the replacement lined up!

I wouldnt be so sure of that, there are plenty of times when we've sold someone thinking we'd only do so as a better player was waiting to come in, only to find out their sold and no one comes.

Attitude and work ethic are great things to have, but you have to have the ability to go along with it. If we wanted a player with a good attitude and work ethic we could've signed Kenny Miller to do the same thing.

AJ, is simply not the player we all thought he was going to be for Everton.
Cash in, move on, and give someone else a try.

Would everyone have said this after he scored the third goal two years ago against the [Poor language removed]. I don't think so. So what really has changed? If he wants to go then thats another story I'm not so sure he does. Media saying Moyes won't replace him unless he gets better or like kind. Goood for you Davey stick to your guns.(y)

As its been said before AJ is good out for the way we play. But a top line striker may only get one sniff in a game and hes got to take it, Johnson doesnt do that often enough thats why the Yaks 1st choice. If hes going then a replacement in first is needed.
As for big Vic, hes nowhere near top line striker status at the moment, imo he needs to improve a hell of a lot to get there. The difference between him and Vaughan well you can see natural talent and a work in progress, for this problem alone we need a forward signing in even if AJ stays but deffo if he goes.Stay for me.

We're much better in the 4-5-1 without a doubt. It's my favourite formation and it seems to be Moyesy's.

AJ doesn't fit the 4-5-1 as much as Yakubu does. Yak can hold it up, wait for Timmy, Pienaar and Mikel to join the attack and is decent on the ball.

AJ can't really do that, he looks to run in the channels, or down the wing and doesn't seem to make those forward runs when someone has the ball for a defence splitting pass. He seems to want to go the sides and recieve it.

He's a decent player AJ and a great player to have in the squad but Yak is so suited to our 4-5-1 it's unreal.

Carsley

Arteta Osman Pienaar

Cahill

Yakubu

Superb.

Replace Carsley with Topal, someone who can sit back and protect the defence while the other 4 join the attack, and not really replace Osman with Fernandes, both can play, it just really depends who's on form.
