It's not about that, you are just showing you don't actually understand what a DoF even does. If a manager has the time to cover ALL the bases that the DoF does at a club then something is going very wrong. The role is there for the purpose of co-ordinating things and giving the manager/coach as much time as possible to spend working with and developing the players. It's taking all the paperwork and the off pitch stuff away from a manager so they can actually just spend time with the players. It's got sweet fa to do with who knows more about football.
It’s all being done worse though since the model came in mate, every metric a DOF should be judged on. I said as much during the week, you will remember.
Ive an open mind on it tbh and am a pragmatist, if it improves things great! Has it, I think everyone can agree - no!
The variance will be the mitigation of different peoples opinion, they will blame someone else, or say we had weak DOF’s or poor governance etc, more evidence for the prosecution to my mind. But nuts and bolts, it’s been depleting and unsuccessful.
Im looking at Iwobi as the canary in the mine at the moment, if he stays (without being sold) it’s Thelwell, if he doesn’t it’s Dyche.
