Do we have a problem breaking teams down?

I can't imagine him scoring a long range shot.

But it's the complete package isn't it mate? I mean, if scoring long range shots was so important then we'd just leave Bily there.

We're after aggressive running, true width, the ability to beat a man and deliver a final product. Coleman could provide this, time will tell like so I wouldn't mind Donovan still coming in.

His crossing is really good, actually. He just doesn't cross often -- he plays it on the ground and goes more direct.

His shooting isn't great, that's true, but then we need him to be a creator, not so much a goalscorer. Baines scores once in a blue moon, but gets tonnes of assists -- that's where he comes in useful.

His normal crossing is good, I'm yet to see him whip one in like a Leighton Baines, for example. The best he can hope for in that position is to be a little mole like Arshavin, burrowing away trying to gain momentum. But he can't **** a ball like Arshy, that's my point.

He's got good accuracy, like Baines, he but he likes to run and play it on the ground. Also like Baines, to be honest, but Baines is partial to those quick curling crosses for the most part, as you're saying. Coleman can do those though, I've seen it, he just doesn't seem to do it often.

It's a [Poor language removed] solution tho, he's just not that kind of player. I'd rather have him careering round on the overlap in the style of Denis Irwin.

I think Moyes sees him there too long term mate, but for the interim I'd not be too hasty in overlooking his contribution there. For the first time in a while we have natural balance on both sides. Curbing Coleman's attacking instinct may be to our detriment.

He IS a RB. He knows it, Moyes knows it, we know it. He's much better on the overlap, that's his game.

But for now it's a decent fix. Until Sir Landon returns, anyway.

I agree it's the best solution for now, but that doesn't change the fact that even with him we have struggled to break teams down. At the moment he is the player we give the ball to when we're camped on the edge of the area and someone needs to do something.

I'll go through the league and list the players we should buy, discounting the top 3.

A. Johnson
Ben Arfa
M. Petrov
Bale or Lennon (either will do!)
Richardson
J. Cole
A. Young
Brunt
EH Diouf
Varney
Duff
Etherington
Larsson
N'Zogbia
Jarvis
Obinna

No Dickov or Jo? You've lost the plot mate

This Bolton team just beat Spurs 4-2.

Jesus H Christ. Perspective please.

I'd agree, but they weren't playing that great today -- just defensive. We had 2/3 of the possession, and restricted them to few opportunities. To not get all 3 points was a bad result, just like against Blackpool.

I've left the ones that I think would genuinely improve us mate, and as you can see we'd be able to afford none of them.

What do you think of Donovan?

Personally I think about 75% of that list would improve us.

Donovan is a good player, but again, I wouldn't see him as the player we'd give the ball when faced with a solid back line around the area. What you need is someone who is too skilful for the [Poor language removed] defenders in the lower teams to deal with, most of the top teams have at least one player like that.
