Yes.

We should be backing him not looking at a stop gap.

The recruitment in the back room suggests he's not viewed as a stop gap by moshiri.

He's done brilliantly so far. Yesterday wasn't great but we would have taken the results over the last 9 games.
We don't know for sure just how long his contract runs for - June 2018, June 2019...or longer. This will govern the amount he has to spend.

If it's June 2018, I wouldn't give him a penny...sorry Sam, but thems the breaks.
And
If they're not actively engaged in helping the new guy put his house on the market (unless its in Bebbington that is) well somebody needs sacking...but that's nothing new at Everton.

I wouldnt give him anything in January.

You have to assume that Walsh surviving Koeman means transfer activity will be primarily him.

Allardyce was brought in as a last resort, forget the fans - the board didnt want him. He was a last resort and a panic amid relegation - it is what it is, let him steady the ship an then move him on.

The 31st December is hardly the time to make a decision on summer! His first goal was to stop us letting in so so many goals, 4 in 7 is really not bad as crap as the football has been. He has a kid and a Niasse up front too so hopefully with a real striker we start getting a few more goals and playing with a bit more purpose and everything will be ok!

..I wouldn’t really know, but I agree that he wants stability on the pitch so he can concentrate on matters off it (the new ground). To this end, I wouldn’t in the least bit surprised if Allardyce is around for longer than folk expect and that includes an extension to his current contract.
I'm sure it was announced on day one as 2.5yrs maybe 3.5....then 'down graded' to halt the fume.

Given he biffed them off early doors for not wanting to give him 4yrs. I can't see him settling for 6mths or even 18mths.
conclusion; if he gets any serious money tomorrow he's here for the long haul.

Depends on whether the board are happy to spend the rest of the season, sat in the stands with their eyes bleeding from watching his turgid anti football.

Can you imagine spending the rest of the season watching the dross that's been served up in the last two games ?

Can’t wait to spend another season watching this awful football and praying we cling on to a point. Doesn’t matter who he manages to somehow convince to join us, his way of playing will be the same.

Anyone who still wants him here once we reach 40 points is mad.

He has not done brilliantly at all. He has won 3 league games against 2 of the newly promoted teams and the bottom team. He has drawn with a team that hadn’t won for 4 months, and lost to a team who hadn’t won in the last 8 games. He has luckily drawn against two of the top teams. (Liverpool should have battered us and better finishing would have seen us off. Chelsea should have won but we were saved by the cross bar and countless clearances off the line).

Even with the wins, we have been outplayed by every team. Beat Newcastle due to a gkp error and the fact they hit the woodwork twice. It’s a disgrace.

The question pre-supposes that the board will have a plan to bring in a more acceptable name in the summer, and I don't have much confidence in their ability to do that, nor in the sort of candidates that might become available. I voted Yes by the way.

The only way it doesn't make sense to give him money is if there is a clear understanding now that he will be gone in the summer. In that case, I wouldn't provide any resources at all for new signings, including in January, until the new man/team are in place in the summer. Yes, we are awful but we have enough to get by until then.

The big question is who comes in next. It will be the defining appointment of the Moshiri era because he can't afford another dud and/or uninspiring manager. Get it wrong, and I don't see where we go from there. I think that will lend itself to a more cautious approach from Moshiri rather than setting out to grab a big name in celebrity fashion.

His brief interview justifying the appointment of Allardyce was telling. Ambition has been shelved at least temporarily to be replaced by the new buzz-word, stability, and earlier references to expected losses. Stability is fine but it becomes rather like a self-fulfilling prophecy, much like Kenwright kept hold of Moyes and Martinez like a comfort blanket. Moshiri's attitude and utterings during the forthcoming general meeting will be very significant in this respect. If we are about to embark on stadium development that will also lend itself to continued conservatism at board level whilst that is in train, which will be to Sam's advantage if he is interested in staying here for a couple of years.

If Allardyce is staying beyond the summer then it is only fair that he receives at least the same support as his predecessor i.e. whatever resources are available. To me he seems genuinely enthusiastic for the job and has a good understanding of what our problems are and what we need.

If we grab nzonzi ?!? In, He will immediatly change the way we play. Honestly, snides in that team is a waste of a place...we need progressive players in, The two we have been linked with will deffo help getting forward and attacking. Sam actually keeps stating that we dont play forwards enough....bit like under koeman. The players for whatever reason look like rabbits in headlights. Let sam buy his team in....then we can whinge on how he sets us up.

Think thats likely to happen no matter what. A striker (provided isnt woeful) will improve us loads but Allardyce is already talking about next season...

He’ll be gone at the end of the season........thankfully.......
