Big away games OT and Arsenal in the league this season....the Goodison derby.
We never "bottled" it at Spurs or Chelsea either..just never got the rub of the green.

I'd argue only the Chelsea away replay should be in that list. That United FA Cup Semi Final we nearly lost to Man Utd's reserve team.

I think 12 months makes a difference.
Under Moyes yes we did bottle them games. We played teams as the inferior team no matter if it was chelsea or Burnley and therefore dropped far too many points by treating them all the same and allowing them to play their own game against us.
Martinez i think the answer is no. I have said on another thread that i believe that critisism for lack of diverse tactics is unjust whilst he has a lack of players to implement any changes. I do believe the way he has us playing against all the 'big clubs' is to win the game rather than to avoid getting beat. Arsenal were better than us fair enough, but then if Barry doesnt needlessly trip Chamberlain, or Barkley scores a few minutes earlier, or we score when arteta goes down then would the result have been different?

Under Martinez we at least have a go. Even when we got battered at klanfield Mirallas still attacked like a man on a mission. It was better than meekly rolling over and having our tummies tickled 3-0.
I think we're pretending we were a lot worse then we actually were last year so this year's improvement look more drastic than it actually is.
For instance, last year at anfield we actually drew 0-0 and should have won but we had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

We won that game because Fergy put out a B team to help Moyes win something and they should of had a pen but Moyes said about United and dodgy pens a few days earlier so it wasn't given, we beat them on pens then chocked at the final

FA Cup disappointments in the last two seasons resulted in two massive memorable performances the following week with the 4-4 at OT and the 2-0 victory over City at Goodison.
Since Oviedo's leg break we've looked like a totally different side to the one before, Martinez needs a good performance out of his players on Saturday.
