Do we bottle the big games ?

Heads dropped after they scored their second ( lack of belief after getting beat by RS, Spurs and Chelsea has plainly dented the players confidence ) but I wouldn't say we bottled it, we just got beat by the better team.

Bottle or just not good enough??

I don't understand why people expect we should beat arsenal or Chelsea or Liverpool or.....

Let's get this right, in the main over the years these teams have simply been better teams than us.

Of course we'v had bad results (Wigan) and games where perhaps the upset was on which we'v not took advantage of but also had good results.

What I will say is were the closet we'v been to these teams in a lot of years, but ultimately in the big games it's fine margins and big money world class players usually make the difference.

You can only "bottle" games that you are favourites to win. What games have we been favourites to win and bottled it?

Certainly under Moyes we bottled so many Cup games..the last being against Wigan at home...a team that would get relegated two months later.

I don't think it's a question of character. Bigger teams than us tend to have more quality, more inventiveness and they'll do whatever it takes to win.

No mate it's not. We got destroyed inside 5 minutes by a very good substitute playing against a terrible stones performance at fault for at least 2 of their goals in relation to position. He has a lot to learn.

I completely agree with your point on Stones. He's still playing at times like a Championship defender, but he has talent and I'm sure he'll become a superb additions with another seasons experience - it's just a shame we are a team that really can't afford mistakes at the moment.

We bottled it in last year's QF. This year a better team, on their home turf, were better than us. Btw, when was the last time we beat Arsenal away?

Fulham in the cup. If we finish 7th and miss out on europe, that's the game I'll blame. In fact that's the one I blame for our trophyless season already.

wasn't a big game though. not every time the better team loses in football is it considered bottling
