What we need is someone like the Southampton manager who will do whatever is needed to gain an advantage instead of being the People's club first and foremost.I am proud of what the club do ,extremely proud but it is the team who are the club and we must have more determination to do well .Despite their lack of attendance I am sure TFG are made aware and will be peed off by the loss of income in the last few weeks , they must be seen to address the problem .

Easy ,a winning culture .
I don't even think it's a winning culture, just a competitive one. From a management side, stop downplaying the club's chances at every opportunity. I swear, we,ve lost most games before we even step out on the pitch.

Stop using client journalism and stop trying to silence dissenting voices.

Stop celebrating near misses like we've achieved something.

Stop using the charity and community work to whitewash failures on the sporting side. We are a football club, first and foremost.

….we had a bit of a clear out last summer, it’s a re-build and it’ll take time.
This. It's all well and good demanding change, but I would prefer getting it right over a suitable time frame and minimise the hazards of change as our squad isn't big enough to cope with too much risk.

Not very exciting, but I thought we were a 9-12th position team this season but am still disappointed that we're at the low end of that.

A couple of improvements and we should be a 7th place team and bordering on Europe which is what I am hoping for next year. After that I would hope we have a puncher's chance of knocking out the big boys and capable of winning a cup.

In the words of Rudy Clark:

🎶
But it's gonna take money
A whole lotta spending money
It's gonna take plenty of money
To do it right child.

It's gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It's gonna take patience and time, ummm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it
To do it right child.

🎶

I don't disagree, on this subject around culture, coincidentally, I had an article drafted of me having a right moan. I often never publish my drafts as 'pipe down lad' and my writing is naff, but I prompted by this thread I just submitted it;

Congratulations on a superb article.

How depressing that the fella running a fan forum has more vision than the billionaires and competent professionals running the club.

Regretting going back on to twitter....our fans base on that thing is horrible, such recent form swung...and they hate every player, want everyone gone, and we have the worst of everything.

Even seen one today moan that Roma have not gone with the Dan Meis.....hinting its because he designs stadiums not big enough....

That is the football fan for you.

It is all drama, there is more overacting on football forums and social media than in an American Soap Opera.

What's that look like? What has to happen for a winning culture? How does that manifest within Everton FC as an organisation?
From the top of the club, they should tell fans what the vision is. Not fluffy bollocks, but real strategic thinking. I.e. "in 5 years we will be regulars in Europe and will win a domestic cup competition."

We might not achieve it, but it shows they are actually aiming for something. Literally all large organisations have a strategic vision.

Internally, there should be actual performance measures against a plan. How many times over the years have we heard about a plan (kopite kev's 115 point plan, anyone?), only to have no idea whether any of it was achieved or missed, or continued beyond that 1 year ? Kinnear recently said "we knew it was a 2 year plan" regarding rebuilding the squad. So does that mean he/Moyes are gone if we fail to improve next season? I doubt it, unless we end up in a relegation fight.

As a genuine answer, if the people at the top of an organisation set extremely high standards, aggressively recruiting the best people in their fields and demanding that their employees at all levels strive to be the best they can possibly be then this becomes the 'culture' of the organisation. Everybody knows that you have to be right on your game every day and always looking to improve things or else you'll be pulled up for it and so standards never drop. If the people at the top don't demand the best and it becomes clear that just doing 'alright' is good enough then that's what people will do, anyone who wants to push themselves and be the best will move elsewhere because they're not in an environment where that sort of attitude is appreciated and rewarded. The OP and a number of other posts in this thread and others are looking at it the wrong way round, you don't accidentally end up with general staff having this attitude by some weird fluke, it's just how things work when the prevailing attitude of the organisation is what it is.

The football is secondary to us being a nice club.

We seem to spend more time planning the careers of ex-players than trying to win stuff.

We internally celebrate mdeiocrity. Ancelotti said he has never been praised for finishing 11th, until he was Everton manager.

We publicly celebrate mediocrity like it's a league title. Seriously, I've seen more social media from the club when we beat palace to stay up than I have from city, the rs or arsenal for winning the league.
Totally agree on the club media, it is shocking. If anything plays down expectations than it's it's the Instant media posts I read on here straight after defeats or bad Interviews by Moyes.

I honestly don't know how people buy in to it, They always seem to have a pre-planned love in post to send out.
