Crying shame that most of his exploits weren't caught on film...want to see for myself what kind of player he was.
A great book that - I got mine on a car boot for a fiver - brilliant reading of his whole life story what an athlete he was, incredible player and a true Evertonian he was - refused to be transferred to arsenal for big money in his prime!I read a book a few years back written by John Keith of Radio Merseyside on Dixie,
This is what a few of these big names could learn from this day and age
Dixie was talking a bout a time when he met up with Babe Ruth the yank baseball player
Not sure if it was at Goodison or not
Ruth was telling Dixie he should be a Millionaire by now and
To use the club to make his fortune
Dixie said he was not interested in using the club he loved
Read and weep Rooney,Lescott,Jeffers,
Fellas Dad,
Crying shame that most of his exploits weren't caught on film...want to see for myself what kind of player he was.

is that not warney cresswell ?Is this true? If so, it's no wonder Bobby's here, he's one of the family already!![]()
I often wonder why we have never had a statue commissioned for our holy trinity (ball, Harvey, Kendall). Normally statues are done in memory of someone, but just imagine the pride of Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey to have a statue in their honour alongside Bally. I think it would be a lovely gesture by the club and would be welcomed by all supporters. Thoughts. For all the money they get now, how many of todays mercenaries would warrant a statue in their honour? - At any club that is, not just Everton.
You have to feel sorry for George Camsell. Knocks 59 in the season before, then the record gets smashed forever the following season by one goal.
I've got a 1977 signed autobiography also signed by latch,Alex young and Dave Hickson in mint condition, always wondered if its got any value, thoughts anyone?!
Didn't realise Camsell wasn't in the top flight at the time. I think it has to be top flight only.Albeit in a lower division.
And goals were more aplenty at the time (people will always point that out). But I made a complete calculation about 10 years ago of all the top scorers of all the seasons in the top division and calculated their relative share of the total number of goals scored in a season to be able to compare. Dean won by a good margin (Shearer was second and Cole 3rd if my memory serves me correct.). Stick that in their faces
