What with Lionel Messi scoring a record number of goals in a calendar year recently, do you think Dixie's record will ever be broken?

I'll say, perhaps predictably, NO

I remember my late old fella always saying , "he didnt really like dixie , show some respect it's William Ralph" . The player was special and I don't think anyone will ever come close to be honest, the whole messi calendar year thing annoyed me if I'm honest as its not a record i'd really heard until it seemed he'd break it. Football is about seasons not Calendar years surely ? It seemed those worshipping messi completely ignored Dean's achievement , if he'd been a united or RS player we'd never hear the last if it.

If anyone hasn't then look at the list of goals and games , it's just incredible made even more so just by looking at it , if makes sense ? The way he made sure he got that record in that last run of games is staggering .

Its the only positive I can say about Kenwright, he knows his history and doesn't forget about ex-players. The players foundation was a fantastic idea and has helped out numerous former players. Hats off to him for that.

Whenever people do a list of greatest ever players Dixie never gets anywhere near enough credit. 60 league goals in a season really is an incredible feat.
