Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Just got a cheeky diagnosis of prosrate cáncer today. Trying to take it in my stride. Seem to be numbs to bad news.

Everton has preparad me for any eventuality!!!
Like the way you call it cheeky, treat it as such, continue with the attitude that you're taking it in your stride and I'm sure you'll be OK.
Best of luck mate, stay positive.

I'm glad you are trying to take it in your stride. It's one of the ones they have more knowledge about so hopefully they can deal with it. Take whatever support they offer you.

Supporting Everton is good preparation fingers crossed you can cure this. Unfortunately there is no cure for Evertonitis.

He stayed with me tonight. Was crying for his mum for ages. Was pretty sad but I still feel good about it in the long run. Went to the shop and bought a load of water balloons and of pistols and let him shoot me in the face all day..I did find him sat in the pantry crying which was pretty heart wrenching.

You're doing the right thing. Just be there for your son and love him. He will know he's loved by you and his mum and will grow up strong for it.

My mate's dad was diagnosed almost a decade ago now. He got treated and got the all-clear after a few years. Spotting it is the important bit.

Get treated, get better, leave your worry and stress to Everton, mate. ;)

I got some bad news on Thursday. It appears my cancer has spread more than my consultant first thought. My scans had been sent to a specialist hospital for a 2nd opinion and their opinion is that it has got much worse in the 12 months between scans. Also when I mentioned how my body is behaving that seems to indicate a worsening of things. I go and see him in just over a week so hopefully they can at least give me some kind of timescale. They can't do surgery and chemo did no good last time.

We love you brother keep fighting.

Appreciate the comments and help. I've went to a GP before and he keeps on trying "things" but it's absolutely kicking my ass. It's just crap every way I look at it. Have another appointment this Friday because he "wants to talk" after the last one he decided to give me absolutely ruined me for a week.

Got home today from vacation. Happy to be home.
Hey, Riddick. I hope you are feeling a bit better now that you are back home. I love going on vacation but since Covid began I get very anxious being around other people and the safety of home brings comfort. Plus there is nothing like your own bed and pillows :)
