Been up and down lately, something happened in my job that has pushed me towards leaving, i don't want to since its a good role and if i do i'll be looking at the 3rd role in just over a year which isn't great for my CV.

I want to take some significant time off and just not do anything for a few several months, i've been working none stop for nearly 30+ years with only holidays and breaks such as the like everyone else gets( i know this is privilege) i am just scared i will never get a job again. I genuinely feel like im working on fresh air and grinding my brakes.

I am empty tbh.

As has been mentioned, a career break would be a good option. Obviously I don't know your age, job or financial situation but is partial retirement an option? You could reduce your hours and claim your pension so you are no worse off.

Good morning all. I would like to share some good news. In March 2024, our 32 year old son was diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma. He had an operation to remove the melanoma and some lymph nodes where it had spread to. He then started immunotherapy. He finished his treatment last month. He experienced some fairly unpleasant side effects during the treatment but, last week his oncologist said as there has been no recurrence - and if it was going to come back it usually does within 12 months - he was happy to hand son's care back to the dermatologist and his GP. I am so relieved.
Additional good news - 5 months ago we became grandparents when our daughter had a little boy. He's gorgeous. Currently heading towards being a Middlesbrough fan but I'm working on it!

Good morning lovely fellow Blues, My turps operation was completed yesterday afternoon. Due to the prostate being very enlarged the operation took just under 2 hours. Bedbound at the moment as they are constantly flushing saline solution through the catheter. The consultant is due to see me this morning and hopefully if all is well will stop the flushing but leave the catheter fitted with just a bag attached. Not really in any pain just a bit of discomfort, probably rest a lot today as never had much sleep with the nurses coming in every hour for various tests. Hopefully this is the start of my proper retirement as since I retired on Feb 1st I have spend most of the time having a pee

@welshtoffee Glad it went well, give the R&R as good a go as you can. It'll take time to adjust, a new pace of life, stop n smell the roses and all that.

Being discharged today from hospital but with the catheter still fitted till next Saturday, then a trip back upto Wrexham to have it removed. Hopefully get home in time to watch the match and enjoy a few glasses of water

FIL had this done 8 or 9 so weeks ago, he is much better than before, sure you will be too

Hi everyone. I run a non profit men’s mental health organisation called TALKHUB C.I.C. We have previously worked with Everton in the past to do a men’s walk and talk before the West Ham home game in October 2021 where we walked from Bramley Moore to Goodison and also in 2023 we did another walk around Stanley Park before the Sporting Lisbon pre season friendly at Goodison.

On Saturday November 15th we are doing another walk for any guys who need to get out and have a chat with like minded fans. We’ll be starting at the Everton store at the new stadium and will be walking up to Goodison and then back to Bramley Moore where we’ll finish in the cafe for a hot/cold drink and a chat.

Well any regulars to this thread might know I've been struggling to get a job for years. Genuinely felt like it would never happen. Its taken an awful long time, but I've finally got my first job, an office job. Somehow I impressed them, not sure how I start next monday. Not nervous yet, more concerned about having to get a some cheap car sorted for my commute after not driving for years.
