I know what you mean. But still, they sounded very disappointed in him. And there reasoning sounds like the old Everton "he doesnt run about much" critique.

I don't think so, I think it was more do with his lack of involvement during the game in open play. Goodlass is a fan of what he's seen and even he said he'd still like to see more of him.

Sharpy is very negative, I tend not to listen to him but he did watch the game, alot of us didn't.

I still think he should be given time on the right hand side during games, maybe his lack of dribbling is because Baines brings the ball forward and he has to tuck inside. On the right the onus would be on him to run at opposition players.

Can't help observing that the AEK fans seemed to make more noise than our guys the other night. And I was very impressed by the Liege fans at last seasons tie and again against Arsenal last week - the ground seems to vibrate with noise. Liege's stadium is one of those very tall, steep places. Just imagine the atmosphere inside Goodison if we could redevelop the old place like that....

I seem to remember him saying that it wasn't his game to go haring down the wing and beating people, which appears to be what the radio guys are looking for. It sounded like he would be far more similar to a give-and-go player with one-twos, clever passes and bursts into the box - bit more like Pienaar and classic inside-left or -right in that sense.

most of A.E.K.'s songs are aimed at insulting their neighbours, the one where they did all the stand/sit/jump around is aimed at their neighbours Olympiakos from the port area of Athens, something about their mothers and the docks.

S.K. Brann also made the place bounce and they got one of the biggest drubbings in recent history.
